Happy Birthday Richie Kotzen (Feb 3, 1970)!
(Title image by DALL-E 3)
Hi WA Freinds!
I'm back with more guitar stuff! Hey, there's only so much I can write about online marketing. It's Saturday where I'm writing this, so it's a musical day, right? Lol ๐
A Little History
Richie Kotzen isn't just your average guitar slinger. This Pennsylvania-born maestro started shredding guitar at the tender age of 7, inspired by the electrifying energy of KISS.
By 19, he had already released two solo albums, showcasing his jaw-dropping technical skills and melodic sensibilities.
His live shows are legendary, captivating audiences with a blend of virtuosity, soulful vocals, and raw emotion. From soaring solos that take your breath away to groove-driven rhythms, Richie has done it all!
Richie has jammed with some rock royalty! He filled in as lead guitarist for the glam metal band Poison in the early 90s, bringing his shredding skills to their "Native Tongue" album.
Later, he joined blues-rock powerhouse Mr. Big, adding his unique flavor to their "Get Up!" release.
Most recently, he's been leading the hard rock supergroup The Winery Dogs, showcasing his songwriting and guitar mastery on albums like "Hot Streak."

I do remember the names Poison and Mr. Big a little from the 90s, Frank. I'll have to give him a listen.
Appreciate the post! ๐ธ๐ค
Isaiah ๐
Hi Isaiah
Yeah, theyโre 80s and early 90s bands.
Some of the 80s guitar equipment changed the way Rock and Metal was played, like the Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo and the high-gain amps (Marshall JCM 800).
Rock On! ๐ค

You probably know Poison and Mr Big, right, Jeff??
Another one for the list! ๐๐ถ

Happy Belated Birthday, Richie!
Great info, Frank! I didn't realize he had so many solo albums....time to go down that rabbit hole.
And what ever happened to Greg Howe? I met him at a NAMM show back in the 90's, really nice guy!
Rock on, Frank!
Tim ๐ผ
Hi Tim
Greg is still around but he hasnโt done an album in a while.
He played on Jason Beckerโs tribute album โTriumphant Tearsโ back around 2018.
Rock On! ๐ค
