Happy Birthday Alex Lifeson!
Hi, WA Friends!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend festivities!
Have you heard of the Canadian-born guitar player Alex Lifeson? You have most likely heard him playing in the Prog Rock band "Rush!"
Alex is a multi-instrumentalist on guitar, mandolin, mandola, and bouzouki ( a Greek stringed instrument).
Apart from his music, Alex also paints, is an airplane pilot, has worked as an actor, and was a part-owner of the Toronto musical venue, bar, and restaurant called the "The Orbit Room," which was closed a few years ago after 25 years (? in part due to COVID issues).

Alex played there from time to time. I never made it to his club, has anyone been there?
In 2008, Guitar Player Magazine voted Alex "Best Rock Guitarist!" These days, Alex has been pretty quiet since the breakup of Rush back in 2018. However, he has made appearances with John Mayall, Don Felder, and Tom Morello.
To date, he has only made one solo album in 1996, called "Victor."
Happy Birthday, Alex!
Keep On Rockin' 🤘

Hi, Ruth
I tend to agree with you.
I’m more of a classic rock guy, but I like all the new stuff, too! 😊
Yes, I agree Jeff...his signature guitar riffs made Rush who they are, he is their signature sound.
-Mike
Hey, Mike
Alex is a great player with interesting musical phrasing! I also enjoy Geddy Lee's approach to bass guitar!
Quite a combination, together!
Frank
I agree...I'm not a huge Rush fan, but I do like a number of their songs and music.
-Mike
Frank,
Alex Lifeson gave Rush the sound that made them seem much bigger than only three fabulous musicians! My first Concert ever was I this in 1982 or 84 with the Rush Signals tour in Dallas Texas! They had Golden Earring as the opening act!
Jeff🎸
Hi, Jeff
Yes, I remember that tour! Rush was a killer band! I loved Alex's guitar playing and Geddy Lee's killer bass lines!
Some good stuff! 😎
Frank 🎸
Neil Peart will be sorely missed too. In my opinion, he was the best drummer ever!
Jeff
You're definitely correct, Jeff!
That whole band was just a great combination of musicians! 😎

Hi Frank...Rush was great. Too bad they broke up. Thanks for the musical enlightenment as always :-)
