I don't understand why I would build a site around my chosen niche before doing keyword research on it.
Hello David, the way the program is structured is similar to using Lego Blocks. The closer you stick to the courses and lessons the easier it becomes to achieve what you are trying to achieve. Yes you can skip lessons, but somewhere down the line you will have to return. I am sure many of us who are computer savvy have skipped several lessons.
The keyword research will come into play when you begin to write your pages, or mostly post. Try to keep what your domain will be close to what your website is about if you want to but you do not have to.
For example Amazon is not about a river. Yahoo or Google doesn't tell you anything about them. What you are doing now is getting the foundation of your websbite and then add your pages first.
Keywords will mainly come into play when you start writing posts. That's where your Google ranking will come from.
