Do not let your love for Rolex watches blind you or rather lead you to make decisions on purchasing these luxury time pieces blindly because there are a lot of scammers out there who will gladly sell you a fake Rolex watch because they know that you might not be able to differentiate between a genuine and a counterfeit Rolex watch. Talking about being able to differentiate between real and fake Rolex watches, the question is can you spot the difference between real and fake?

Rolex watches are very expensive because they are made of high quality materials, high craftsmanship and are associated with success but truth be told not everyone can or will afford to buy a Rolex watch hence they are highly copied or have so many counterfeits. There is a market for fake Rolex watches because there are people who will buy these fake watches willingly but what about those people who get duped to believing that they are buying a genuine Rolex watch while being sold a counterfeit instead.

The above image shows counterfeit Rolex watches that look real to a person who cannot differentiate between real or fake and here at usedrolexforsale.org we would not want anyone to be a victim of buying fake Rolex watches under the impression that they are buying genuine watches, so we have compiled and lined up for you some ways or precautions you can use to differentiate between real or fake Rolex watches before buying, they may not be 100% full proof because these replicators are good and getting better and better in creating these fake watches but i believe that the following precautions may help you from falling victim to scammers.

  • Pricing - It must raise eyebrows if a watch of high value is sold at a ridiculous low price.
  • Weight - Rolex watches are heavy because of the material they use.
  • Open up the watch, if it is a Swiss ETA, Quartz or Chinese movement then it is not a genuine Rolex watch.
  • If it has a snap open back then the watch is fake because Rolex watches do not use snap backs.
  • If the watch is gold plated then the watch is fake because Rolex uses solid gold not gold plate.
  • Rolex started micro etching a tiny crown into crystals on their watches in 2002 and the crystal logo is on the 6 O`clock position and is visible when you tilt it,the fake has that too but the difference between real and fake is the balls on the tip of the fake crown are too small.
  • The date should be zoomed in making the date much bigger.
  • The Rolex laser engraved inside the watch is engraved eight times.
  • Basel has sharp edges compared to the fake one.
  • Oyster pieces have a serial number and model number between the lugs on the six position and twelve position.

I hope the pointers above will help you to be more vigilant and give you the tools to avoid being scammed into buying a counterfeit Rolex watch believing that you are buying a genuine watch, in conclusion when buying a Rolex watch whether it be a new or used one make sure it is from a reliable source or certified dealer and to be 100% sure take it to a watchmaker to open it up for you to check the movement of the watch to authenticate it for you, make your research before buying.
