Don't Let Distractions Stop You

Life happens. Last year 2020, Covid19/Coronavirus happened. For a lot of us it created isolation, some of us worked from home, some of us lost work. The activities we engaged in got cancelled. In fact, I was on a skiing trip and in the middle without warning (about 18 hours) the Governor ordered the ski areas closed. End of the season!

Each of the organized bike rides for that summer also cancelled, and we had a stay at home order... then it got worse, restaurants closed, travel ceased. Friends/Family got sick and some died. We tried to care for family.

We aren't out of the forest yet, the woods may even change. These are/were huge distractions. I'm back, I'm a year older, (I couldn't celebrate a milestone birthday last year), I am focused on celebrating some successes. It's time to make it happen. I hope you will join me on the journey.

Whatever your distractions are or have been, don't let them derail you from your dreams. Write your dreams down, focus on them. Make your dreams the reasons you are moving forward. Make your dreams important. I read somewhere that dreams are alive, you have to feed and water them, or they die. DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS DIE.

Colonel Sanders, the Kentucky Fried Chicken guy, he was a steam engine stoker, lawyer, an insurance salesman, a filling station operator. He failed or was fired from all of these jobs, then he became a restaurant owner. His restaurant closed due to fire. In 1952 he franchised his fried chicken recipe. He got $0.04/chicken. He opened this first franchise at the age of 62. It wasn't until he was 73 that he sold the company and became a multi-millionaire.

Keep going. If you get distracted as I did get back to it.

I'm getting back to it.

I love the KFC story, its a pretty amazing one!

Very interesting read. I did not know the Colonel Sanders story. Amazing and inspirational.

It's so true we need to keep your goals and dreams before us that know our medium for achievement as stay forcused.

Thanks for sharing.
