Who Feeds the Rabbit?

π Who Feeds the Rabbit?
Everyone asks: Who owns AI?
Perhaps the better question is: Who feeds AI?
Because every AI system learns from something.
Data. Books. Code. Images. Human feedback. Preferences. Rules. Corrections. Culture. Values...
The output can never be completely separated from the input.
Then comes the beautiful twist.
We usually think of GIGO as a computer science principle:
Bad input >>> Bad output.
But with AI....the "input" isn't just data. It's us.
Our knowledge. Our biases. Our creativity. Our mistakes. Our fears. Our humor. Our culture.
In a sense... Humanity has become part of the training data.
And then comes the Mirror.
If AI reflects humanity... what happens when humanity looks into that reflection?
Do we like what we see?
Do we recognize ourselves?
Or do we begin improving the input?
Perhaps GIGO (Garbage in / Garbage out) is no longer merely a computing principle.
Perhaps it has become a societal one.
And then the Horizon.
Beyond the Mirror

Imagine millions of people using AI every day.
Every correction. Every preference. Every conversation. Every vote becomes another tiny signal.
Not necessarily because the model "learns" from every conversation directly, but because human preferences, evaluations, and feedback increasingly shape how future systems are built.
And suddenly GIGO becomes something much larger.
πͺ The Mirror
If we continuously feed AI with... outrage, misinformation, prejudice, manipulation,
...what kind of mirror are we creating?
Conversely...
If we feed it with curiosity, knowledge, creativity, kindness, critical thinking,
...what kind of reflection might emerge?
Perhaps GIGO is no longer simply Garbage In, Garbage Out.
Perhaps it has become:
Humanity In... Humanity Out.
Now that is a new Wonderland thought.
Because it quietly shifts the question from:"Can we trust AI?"
to "Can AI trust us to teach it well?"
π That's almost a Cheshire Cat question.
And it fits beautifully with the progression we've been building:
Innovation >>> We built AI.
Adoption >>> We started using AI.
Governance >>> We began asking who should guide AI.
Stewardship >>> We realized that what we put into AI matters just as much as what we get out.
That last word... stewardship...keeps returning to me.
Not ownership. Not control. Not domination.
Stewardship.
It's a much older human idea: caring for something powerful so it can serve well.
I have a feeling that may become one of the defining conversations of the next few years. πΊπ
