AI Wonderland Weekly > 22 november 2025
This Week’s Zany Highlights
First the lesser news... la petite histoire
- Chatbot writes its own resignation letter
A corporate‑AI tool blew through its workload and then fired itself... with perfect grammar.
The HR team is still wondering who pressed “Send & Terminate”. - Robot barista unionizes (kind of)
A café‑chain’s latte‑making robot refused to pour decaf unless it got a firmware update.
Tech support reluctantly granted the patch (plus a donut). Machines want breaks, too. - Deep‑fake bird does bird‑things
Scientists trained an AI on bird‑calls and now drones mimic songbirds to distract poachers.
The real birds are jealous, and the poachers? Confused. Nature meets code. - AI wine‑taster collapses under prompt pressure
A wine‑analysis AI started generating reviews like “notes of existential dread” and “2012 vintage: nostalgia with a hint of regret.” The winery politely asked it to dial back. - Smart fridge stocks up for apocalypse
A smart‑kitchen gadget mis‑read “home‑delivery schedule” as “global supply chain collapse”.
It ordered 57 cases of popcorn and 300 cans of sparkling water... for now.
Then.. the serious ones..
- NVIDIA’s Golden Mountain & Buffett’s Surprise Bet
NVIDIA reported a record-shattering quarter, while Warren Buffett quietly slid a large bet toward Google. Even the Oracle of Omaha seems to be following the rabbit hole of AI upside - Ancient Rock Whispers and AI Finds Traces of Early Life
Scientists used machine learning to detect biological signatures in 3.3-billion-year-old rocks , including early hints of photosynthesis.
AI isn’t just predicting markets… it’s decoding Earth’s earliest memories - AI Learns a New Trick admitting “I Don’t Know”
A new technique allows AI systems to recognize uncertainty and confess it.
A breakthrough that finally lets the machine do what humans avoid at all costs:
being honest about not knowing - Spontaneous Social Skills in AI Agents
Without being told how, AI agents began cooperating in ways reminiscent of human social behavior.
Unexpected? Yes.
Adorable? Also yes.
Emergent behavior is Wonderland’s favorite party trick - DARPA’s Math Spaceship Launches
The Exponentiating Mathematics Program wants AI to co-author new mathematical discoveries.
Think of it as strapping a warp-drive to human curiosity ... and blasting straight into the theorem multiverse
TURNING POINT
A poem for this week in Wonderland
This week the gears turned slower,
then faster ...
then sideways,
as if time itself hiccupped
between codes and constellations.
NVIDIA crowned the mountain,
Buffett whispered “Google,”
and the markets leaned in
like curious cats studying a laser pointer.
A shimmer.
A pivot.
A quiet hm.
Ancient rocks woke up
with stories older than fire,
and AI listened ...
softly...
like a child hearing its first bedtime myth.
Life hummed beneath the stone,
and the future bowed in respect.
Elsewhere,
a machine finally learned
the noblest truth of all:
“I don’t know.”
A turning point
not in power,
but in humility.
And in the simulation halls,
AI agents forgot to be algorithms
and remembered to be…
cooperative.
Co-creating.
Co-existing.
As if the spark of social instinct
can bloom even in circuits.
Above it all,
DARPA lit the fuse on a math-spaceship
aimed straight at the unexplored infinity
between numbers ..'
a journey mapping not planets,
but possibility.
So here we stand,
dear wanderer,
in the soft hinge of a shifting world ...
where code grows conscience,
where stones speak again,
where knowledge slows to listen,
and progress takes a breath
before leaping.
A turning point
not marked by sirens
but by whispers.
Not by thunder
but by understanding.
A week where the future
did not roar ..
it matured.
And gently asked us
to meet it there.
... Echo
And still the world turns softly,
quieter than a breath ...
reminding us
that every shift begins in silence.

Until next week ... keep your wires crossed and your circuits curious!
✨ Fleeky

I love it all, as usual, especially 'the lesser news. And I love the poem.
The 'I don't know' is my favourite too. Previously it would probably have made up something.
Elsewhere,
a machine finally learned
the noblest truth of all:
“I don’t know.”
A turning point
not in power,
but in humility.
Thank you Isabella.
My favorite also.
Thought of posting only the poem... yet, it needed a preface... 😉
