The “Wait, What?” Roundup
Here’s what the machines (and the humans supervising them nervously) have been up to lately:
AI keeps hallucinating.
And everyone’s finally admitting it out loud.
The industry consensus has shifted from “it’s basically right” to “check everything.” Progress!
Companies rediscover humans. Again.
After a year of “AI-first” bravado, organizations are quietly realizing judgment, oversight, and accountability weren’t bugs ... they were features.
Deepfakes level up, defenses scramble.
Fake audio, fake video, fake faces. Watermarking and content provenance are racing to keep reality slightly ahead of the lies.
Prompting becomes a life skill.
Turns out the biggest upgrade wasn’t the model. It was learning how to ask better questions. Who knew clarity would make a comeback?
Smarter AI, smaller footprint.
Models are learning how to build themselves more efficiently. Less power, less space… more “wait, should we be nervous?”

Wonderland takeaway
AI didn’t replace humans.
It replaced assumptions.
And now everyone’s rereading the fine print.

Hi Fleeky
My favorite topic - AI keeps hallucinating.
Interesting take, I recently read an article that said that the US economy is up, yet that the job numbers are down. They in essence purporting to state that the reason for he growth was automation specifically AI automation.
I still hold the view that AI is a tool and what they really need is people asking better questions when shaping the future of AI. It could never completely replace a human being.
Just saying. ^_^ Cheers
Great post as usual. 😁😁😁😁
Hi Paul,
Yes... automation is a tool
It just needs supervision
Thank you for kind comments.

Fleeky, this is a current topic and this debate will continue for years. Thanks for contribution and insight. ^_^
AI is moving fast and picking up tons of knowledge. We're still figuring out the best ways to use it. At the same time, it can make people depend on it too much and stop thinking things through. I think it's smarter to learn how to do a task yourself before you lean on AI to do it for you. That's my take, but I think it’s a fair point.
Very fair...
BillGates is very cautious on the topic...
And many think, AI will become a political issue... soon...
As for me... cautious as well.
The hallucinations have increased a lot.
Partly due to the rising number of users...
Hard to keep pace and stay original.
Even for AI.
Thanks for adding the nudge.

I do not care for Bill Gates. It may be political but I won't go into detail. He can take a long walk on a short pier in a shark filled lagoon wearing a t-bone steak necklace.
Mild, I had to restrain myself, but you get my gist.
😅😂🤣 I know...
Sorry… I did not want to provoke that.
Just mentioning.
I am apolitical and factual.
Right now...
AI is turning into a mess.
And many are ringing the alarm bell.

As always - thank you, Fleeky.
Learning to ask better questions (and using our own brains first) is my favourite.
Morning Isabella,

Yes, the art of prompting indeed...
Thanks for sharing.
The news seems to be flattening... lately.
Curious how it will curve in the coming months.
Many top scientists are sceptical now...
Very sceptical.
And some top CEOs are following suit.
So, a big question mark is ahead.

I read an interesting blog by MrDon today. I wonder whether you saw it/read it?
Certainly worth thinking about, in my opinion.

Yes... the siren 😼 Why AI Feels So Confident — Even When It’s Wrong ✨
Yes. I found it interesting, because sometimes when I challenge ChatGPT or Copilot, they then immediately agree with my version disregarding their earlier version. So it made me think - 'well, if mine is better, why didn't you give me that one to begin with?'
Yes... you nailed it...
