The Beginning:

I began my journey into affiliate marketing with tremendous optimism and ambition about 8 or 9 months ago. I was convinced that with a successful track record of sales in the Fortune 500 space, I would be able to easily transition into earning income in a new role as an affiliate marketer. My optimism was quickly diminished after spending hundreds of hours and a hundred of dollars, chasing my tail and spinning my wheels. My first attempt was with the Super Affiliate Network . (SAN) I signed up for a special offer and participated in a couple of calls and began the boot camp. I did not have the money to invest to pay for the several thousand dollar uplift to continue with the SAN path and attempted to "Go it Alone".

Going it Alone:

In my go it alone strategy, I signed up for just about any free tool or site I stumbled across. Spent hours on traffic exchange sites clicking for clicks. I would aimlessly get affiliate links and post to twitter. I used other exchange type sites and although I did manage to get hundreds of clicks; I never sold or earned a dime.

Discovering Wealthy Affiliates (WA):

During my Going it Alone Phases, I did manage to find Wealthy Affiliates and signed up for the trial of "free" level of service. I was immediately impressed and completed as much as possible on my first access and bookmarked the site making a note that this was something worth looking into further. It took several more weeks and a few follow up emails from Kyle for me to become active again.

Moving to Premium:

After exhausting the "free" level of services, It was readily apparent that moving to the Premium level of access was a "no-brainer". Gaining access to the Premium tools and successful training tracks, I immediately began to see tangible results. I gained an understanding of what and why I needed to take certain actions. In a very short time, I created a web-site: www.unique-alternatives.com I am still developing a concrete niche but have begun blogging and tagging around areas that I have experience and interest in.

My site and posts have been indexed by Google and I am confident that I will continue to build upon the foundation and set of followers I have built thus far.

WA Back End Tools:

The back end tools and integration features of WA is exceptional. As I mentioned, I spent a couple of decades in the Sales and Marketing business of Fortune 500/Global 200 organizations and can say with confidence, that the tools, back end support and technology implemented is first class all the way.

WA Community:

I also cannot emphasize enough the benefits of having a community of users that share their knowledge, experience, the best practices and insight to help you to become successful and a positive contributor to the member community.

Goals Moving Forward:

My goals for the next 30 days is to continue through the training and framework and build upon the activities I have already completed. In the next 60 days, refine and identify a more specific niche and create an additional complimentary website. In the next 90 days, I plan to achieve a level of followers and traffic that a steady income stream, however small, is generated.

Ambassadorship:

I will also be looking at the Ambassadorship program and look to continue to build upon my WA rankings on my continued path to success.
