The Meaning of Rank

Have you ever tried to figure out how and why we are ranked? Perhaps we have all wondered at some time.

Last night I had one of those "aha" moments, when understanding is granted. I think I now see the bigger picture.

When I first got into WA, I thought the high-ranking folks with the very low numbers were the ones who were raking in the dough. Then I noticed my own ranking number got lower as time passed, and I certainly wasn't making any money.

I then learned that the rank was not necessarily an indication of money earned. As days passed, I realized that moving up in rank usually depends on two factors: Time plus action. If we spend time in WA answering questions, giving comments or feedback, encouraging new people, and writing blogs, our rank will rise.

So, is that all rank is? A visible sign of the time you spend in WA?

I think that is one meaning, but there is a more important one. As we well know, with just a few exceptions, it takes some time to move from the starting gate to the top 50, or to ambassador.

I believe that rank = commitment. The lower the rank, the higher the commitment. That's why Kyle is number one.

If you are truly committed to succeeding in WA, you will see your rank gradually rise. As you reach down to pull another up to your step on the ladder, you rank will be part of your reward. The higher your commitment, the lower your rank.

So not all the folks in the top 50 or those who are ambassadors are making much money. However, I believe there is a parallel between the level of commitment and the amount your website will earn.

If you are fully committed to succeeding and you keep putting in the effort in that direction, I believe in time the success will come.

To restate: From those who are committed to success in WA will come those who will succeed. There is most definitely a connection between commitment and success.

So when you see your rank start to rise, as the numbers become lower and lower, know you are on the right road.

RANK = COMMITMENT LEVEL = SUCCESS

Thank you, on behalf of all who are in for the long haul!

You are a wise woman. That is precisely how ranking works.
Sandy

Fran,
Very good post and observation about rank here within
WA, what members need to remember is do not get so
caught up in their rank it is only a number and by spending
so much time investing in helping others within our
community you do pay a price - the price is the time that
could be used to build your own online business.

I did that for my first six months here as I went through
the training and helping everyone I could - I did not
write very many blog posts actually, I do more now than
ever before. Why, to let members know how I am doing
because I am absent from their presence now.

Also, this can help them figure out how to reach the
goals that they want to reach.

Great post and great looking into,
Susie ::)) ((xx))

Marley, I think during our first six months while we are going through training, being very active in WA is a good thing. We reinforce our learning by answering questions. We move up in rank as we help others. Once we have that initial training under our belts, then I feel it is fine to spend more time on our websites; checking in on messages to see what we can contribute, but not being here so much.

This is good to know, I was starting to wonder what I was doing wrong...

I imagine you are doing fine. Just know that building any business takes time. Hang in there.

Very good post! It is gratifying to welcome, help, or in any other way recognize other people when they need help or encouragement. It is great that we can be recognized and appreciated for our actions! Keep up the good work!

You're absolutely right. The rank here is not reflective of your site's success or how much money you've made but your activity in and contributions to the WA community.

Things like answering other member's questions, creating trainings, interacting in Live Chat, blogging and so on here at WA factor into that number.

If you click on the rank number you'll be taken to a page that breaks it down by category for you.

The true "secret sauce" to WA is the community and the more you help the community the better the platform becomes.

Congrats on moving up in the ranks.

I think helping out in here fine-tunes our road to success. We learn while we teach, and it all helps us move forward.

Kyle and Carson had to put it there for a purpose and knowing that they are the genius behind this platform I just accept it.

One thing I was doing when I now started was to spend more time here than on my website, I soon corrected that and now I just drop by from time to time, like I am doing now. Thank God for smartphones. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Fran, I think you are absolutely right. Communication on this site is very important to Rank.

Fran,
I've noticed my rank number getting lower. I'm not making money on any of my sites but I am more engaged with the WA community.
Ellen

Fran,
I just discovered this as well... LOL! I couldn't figure it out, until recently.
Thank You for this, as I think others have the same question we did 😎

Great minds think alike, Shaunna, and sometimes find themselves on the same path...
