So I just wanted to post a success blog because that's exactly what this has turned into... A success!! When I first started I was using Codecademy.com and was going through the courses of learning HTML and CSS. I quite enjoyed doing these courses though, but I was going to build my own website the hard way... Better to try than not at all, right?

Well, I have gotten my site up and going! I am very pleased with the way Kyle has done his videos and helped me so much. I am very eager to keep learning more! I can see how time put in = rewards put out from website. I enjoy being in control of my own website, and love how I can tinker around with different settings for 45 minutes at a time just to make something just right... it really could be a full time job!

What I have noticed though, is sometimes you have to get away from this thing and go DO something outside. Where I've been working with my friend on his project, its only helped clear my mind and keep me balanced. I am very happy with the outcome, its real and true progress!!! Who could've guessed?!

Thank you so much Wealthy Affiliate.. I can't wait to see the money, but thank you so much for walking me through step by step!! Such very good resources, videos with good instructions.. Who would've thought?!

I want to thank all of my followers, although I don't always have time to respond to everyone's websites, I am trying to leave feedback. Please don't hold it against me! I am at 149 followers right now, and rising every day!!

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday morning, I will most likely be outside in the freezing temperatures pulling metal out of the frozen ground again haha! I really enjoy this, and will probably post something about it soon! Thanks again guys, you really are very good followers! Thanks for hanging in there!! Goodnight!!

Nice blog Faith. I agree about getting away and outside regularly too. Just sitting at the computer all day is not the way to go. Best wishes.

Good post, Faith...very inspirational, honest, and meaningful; did I mention, attitude with gratitude thrown in? :) :) :) Keep it up! And did I say, "you go girl,?" lol

You know honestly, when I am working hard on a website, the time just flies very quickly because I'm so into it. You may only plan on doing 15 minutes, when all of a sudden you realize that you spent an hour or more on it! It just doesn't seem like work, though, because you are really enjoying what you do.

But sometimes when you are at a sticking point and get frustrated, you know that you need to walk away and take a break from it and realize that you do have a life outside of WA.

What I do is if I am feeling frustrated or can't go any further at a certain time, I'll just play some games, or go lift weights, watch some TV, make a meal, take a nap, do laundry, go out of the house and go shopping... anything to give myself a break!

I will then come back if I have nothing else going on and feel energized again. If I have energy later in the day, I come back. If not, no big deal. I rest up and start early the next day (or whenever my schedule permits).

One thing I can tell you from experience is not to burn yourself out, because if you do, you will find such things as a "chore" and won't find them enjoyable anymore.

But to succeed with anything, consistency is the key! If you remain consistent, you will succeed! So, enjoy yourself for a few hours. Take a day off once in awhile. Life was meant to be about LIVING, not burning yourself out. When you feel fresh, trust me, the quality of your work will improve dramatically!

And on top of that, if you are at a sticking point, there are tons of great people here at WA who are always willing to provide feedback and help. The support here is unbelievable!

Hope this helps :)

Tom

Thanks Tom, its true. I got burned out so fast, just tweaking my theme took almost two hours last night and I was like OMG ITS TWO AM AND I GOTTA WORK IN THE MORNING!! I felt bad because I love this so much I want to do it all the time, but honestly I can't stare at a screen like I used to when I was 14 for hours on end haha thanks for the support, that made my day :-)

Faith, Don't feel bad. It took me awhile to find a good theme as well. It's pretty decent, but not quite perfect yet. I figure as long as I am making good progress and am consistent with the lessons regardless, I will learn little tidbits on my own along the way and incorporate it into a style of my own, while still learning from a lot of the other WA members on this journey. Experience is the greatest teacher of all, they say... :)

Hey Faith,

Congrats on learning some HTML and CSS!

I personally think this is a HUGE advantage when building an online business and can definitely say this has been a contributing factor to my own success.

There are so many advantages to having this knowledge:
* the ability to tweak your theme's stylesheet
* give details instructions to your (future) staff
* customize your own widgets
* etc.

You should be very proud of yourself!

Regards,
Jay

Thanks Jay!
I really thought it would come in handy after discovering word press.. When I seen the code go on it all by itself I was like OMG THAT IS SO COOL!! I love technology :-) thanks for the post!

Sometimes you DO have to get away, you are completely right! There have been plenty of occasions in the past when I've been working on my websites (prior to WA) and I'm tinkering away because this doesn't look right and that feels poorly done and on and on, until finally I close the laptop in frustration. I come back hours or days later, refreshed and ready to fix the problems... until I open my laptop back up, look at what I'd already done, and say to myself "Wait, this looks really good!"

Fresh eyes are definitely a must. You said it perfectly.

Thats exactly what happened today! I was like, "What was I thinking? That background doesn't clash!!" I changed my theme 50 times and I had a headache, I was like. GOODNIGHT! Hahah thanks so much for the comment, I enjoyed reading that :-)

I wish you all the best and success in your business.

Thank you sir! And the same to you. I really appreciate the comment.

Congrats! That's awesome progress.
Can't wait to hear about your continued success!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the motivation :-)
