Sometimes we grasp hold of a new idea and it seems like a crazy thing. Yet, intuition speaks and urges us to look beyond the crazy and search for viability. Some folks get nervous and prefer sound facts rather than trusting their intuitive voice, others are happy to go with the flow.

Why?

Ask the ego. It has years of experience with you and has witnessed all your successes and trails. Its primary focus is to protect you but sometimes its tendency to over-protect and sub-consciously dwell on the negatives can snatch away possibilities, reinforce habitual ways of thinking, and deny the positive life-experiences we all seek. In short, it generates excuses and creates negative energy.

Old Ways of Thinking

All things are possible and past “bad luck” or thinking about the way things have always been will change nothing and contribute to a repeat of the process. It’s up to us to silence the ego and let go of the old ways to access the awareness needed to achieve our goals and enjoy all the experiences along the way.

Experiences are Goals

Think about your current primary goal.

  • What experience are you trying to create through that goal?
  • Do you agree that this goal is possible?

Once you’ve decided on the experience you want to achieve, you can work out how to make it happen.

The Wright Brothers did it when they decided they wanted the experience of flight. Young people do it after deciding they want to become doctors, engineers. . . People at Wealthy Affiliate do it when they decide to start building their own business and aim to become successful. It takes considerable dedication, challenging work and directed focus to have the experience of what it feels like to become successful.

Ask Yourself

Exactly what are you trying to experience?

How can you start having those experiences today?

What do you need to do every day to have these experiences?

Opening Doors

Experiences open the door to greater experiences and take us on a journey to personal growth and development.

Here’s a simple example. When I first went skiing, I was clueless but, I found myself an experienced teacher who taught me the basics. I was hooked in less than three hours and I decided that I wanted to become great at this sport. Today, I’m qualified to instruct other people and not much on the slopes phases me. After dedication and commitment, the pistes on the mountains are well and truly open and every ski season I enjoy new, more advanced experiences. Where did this example come from? It’s been snowing on the mountains; excitement is building throughout our household. Thanks to my experiences, everybody has started developing their own experiences and ski well without input from me. That was one of my goals.

Wealthy Affiliate is similar. Successful people share their skills and experience to benefit others. I’m going to repeat myself here; To have the experience of joining those successful people, all we need is belief, dedication and commitment.

As the Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu said an exceptionally long time ago in the Tao Te Ching, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. We have some outstanding teachers here and before long you can become one of those too if that’s an experience you desire.

There’s plenty more to discuss as far as experiences and how to go about attaining them are concerned but for now, I will end here and share more in my next post. Enjoy your experiences and have an awesome week.

Experience is great ... I once read ... paraphrasing ... it’s better to learn from the experience of others than to try and learn everything as you go... so I choose to read from as many as would write about their experience
Belief is a key ingredient...
great post
Tim

Thank you, Tim. Yes, learning from others is extremely valuable and that's why I'm so grateful for being part of the WA community.

Experience helps us perfect everything that interests us. Many thanks!

I like that great comment. Thanks Claudio

Too True Steve, someone has to want it to learn it!

Jeff

They do. Thanks Jeff. Hope you're having a great day.

Yes, indeed. If you are not open to learning... No amount of teachers can successfully teach you.

Thanks Stanley. As Lao Tzu said, . . . when the student is ready :-) Happy Monday

As long as success is in our minds.

Yes, Jimmy. Success needs to reside at the front of our minds, not exclusive but inclusive of many other vital factors :-) Ha ha, I see another post in that comment.

Well said and well done Steve, everyone has to start somewhere and I am not sure when it happens, but at some point, we just know how to do stuff without thinking.

The hard yards and dedication pay dividends no matter what field or endeavor.

Alex

Thanks Alex. The hard yards are worth every inch. It's true, "stuff" does have a wonderful habit of falling into place. S
