Your WA Rank. Feel like you're moving at a snail's pace? Read on.
Don't worry about the WA Rank!
When I first started on WA I happened across a blog post that advised "ignoring" your WA rank. My first reaction was: I don't think so! Lol
The author spoke on how rankings can be a nice incentive, but how you may get discouraged if you do not see the numbers you'd like or feel you deserve. Within minutes I received that advice and tucked it away for a rainy day.
Upon completing my first levels of training I've found that the rankings did indeed serve another purpose for me.
Rankings on WA get you accustomed to ranking-life on Google.
You will quickly notice that the more you engage on several platforms, e.g. training, website posts, interaction with other affiliates - that your rankings will rise. You will also (and probably most importantly) realize that consistency is key.
Snail's Pace? Steady and Successful.
A few weeks ago, I watched the snail in the above picture cross from one section of my front yard, across my walkway and on to the opposite section of the front yard. He moved stereotypically slow, but he covered so much ground in a surprisingly short amount of time.
When I first realized he was there I was intrigued. I'd never actually watched a snail in motion, so I wanted to see just how slowly he would move. I ran in the house to grab my phone to take pics and a video. I was shocked at how far he had gotten in the minute that I was gone.
Watching him I realized that he actually moves at a good steady pace, not fast - but also not really slow. It seems that its our perspective that seems to make him look slow. Not only did he cover a lot of ground respective to his size, but he left a highly visible trail across the pathway that could be seen from a great distance.
I dropped from 6400 to 20000
After taking a break for weeks due to personal developments, I got my rainy day. I watched my newly acquired rank of 6,400-ish drop down to 20,000 upon my return. First reaction - heart drop. 30 seconds later - no worries, because as I re-engage so will my rankings. Thank goodness for that early blog post that I read. I could have lost a day or more feeling defeated. Now I know its just training for success!
Mahalo. Rock steady :-)

Aloha Stuart :-) I'm so happy this was a help. It came to me and I immediately started typing. It helped me too as I composed it.
Mahalo for sharing! It's encouraging to know that even those higher in the rankings sometimes have these moments. I do look forward to the day when I see a 400 rank on my profile though. Lol

Great positive attitude to have, "not to worry, re-engage"! You can get the numbers back to where they were and improve on them in time!
Mahalo Donnie! I am growing up in my WA life :-)
I really appreciate the encouragement.

Absolutely, great post, I used to constantly watch my rank, when I realised I could move up. That said I had a goal, which I achieved for rank and am well beyond that now, but while I like ranking highly, I also like earning money... and the best way to do that is by building out a conversion focused blog, which in time will become a great asset
Rank does matter, but only within the way you think as an individual, I am happy where it is, if it goes up great, if it doesn't no probem, the most important thing is that by taking part in the community,
WE are helping people and thats far more important
Aloha Dave! Thank for your insights. I also struggled with "time over here vs. time over there". No longer. I'm doing a lot that is not on WA, but will connect to my WA websites later. I loved seeing my rankings shoot up, but I've matured to not getting stuck chasing a higher ranking.
Continued success!
