The Wealthy Affiliate that Never Was
I recently signed up with a free account with wealthy affiliates with the promise that you go through their course and you will be on your way to making money in no time. Well, I powered through the course in three days - checking every box and dotting every i and crossing every t. And then...the course suddenly ended and I was dumped onto an "upgrade to premium" page in order to continue with the classes. Giving me almost the taste of a bait and switch game...
Don't get me wrong, I learned some great stuff through the beginner course, but I am in no way ready to start selling stuff...I know how to build websites and choose keywords, but how is that going to get me anything?
I am assuming I must have just missed the big red button that tells you how to start selling stuff - if so, someone please enlighten me.

You have 10 lessons for free (green button up-left) and that is it. If you wish you have another 10 in Affiliate Bootcamp (black button). The rest is not free.

You can stay a free member forever if you choose or you can upgrade to Premium when you are ready.
The first month is only $19 then you can actually go Yearly Premium for $359 - Less than $1 per day.
The Starter training program has the first 7 days as a trial so that you can get the feel for what is offered. It is not designed to teach you everything in 7 days.

You build websites with content. You can add affiliate links to the products you have on your site and earn commission with them.
On WA you can learn how to create good content and increase your traffic -> increased revenue.

I believe the whole point of the "free" portion is to give you a good taste of the quality of the information that is available here.
While the free section is pretty good, the paid portion is much better. It gives you much more training and many more opportunities to interact with fellow marketers.
Unfortunately, nothing in life is really free. Whether it costs you money or time, everything has a cost. Every business requires some type of investment. To make any real money on the internet, one has to treat it as a Real business and not just something that one plays around it a few nights a week.
Also, a site of this size could not remain online without funding of some sort. The membership fees pay for all the hosting and other expenses (as well as giving the owners a nice paycheck).
