Lottery, Luck and Winning

Lottery, Luck and winning, some people believe one day they will luckily win the lottery; some people believe someday with a little luck their life will get better. Well, I don’t believe in luck, and as Charlie Sheen would say if you are truly “Winning” you don’t need luck. Luck is for the ill prepared empty dreamer that refuses hold himself accountable and take action, and no I don’t mean spending your paycheck on more lottery tickets either… But statistical facts be darned, millions of people still play with the belief that this is their lucky number and they are going to win it all…Truth be told you have a better chance of seeing Big-Foot (Sasquatch) in your backyard playing catch with Lil-Timmy than actually winning the lottery. Now you are bewildered and broken because that lucky day never comes, instead of taking charge of your career, your finances and your well-being you give up. Never realizing that you have won the lottery of life, as soon as you take stock in who you are and where you are, set your own path, create your own wealth no longer needing a lottery win for financial independence. You are now an independent giver of your time and money, you are now winning.

I do not think that is how it is for everyone, there are some people who actually keep track of numbers drawn and calculate their chances or winning, there are some who perhaps feel their lives can only be change by a bit of good fortune and the low cost chance is worth a try,, like most things in life some seem to do well and others no matter how hard they try they never seem to get the desired result.

So are you saying that wishing somebody at WA good luck on their journey to success is inappropriate? Did lottery winners work and plan how to win the lottery, or was it down to luck?

No that's the point those that play the lottery don't prepare, they put all their hopes in that winning ticket. I would not wish them good luck, because in my opinion you create your own luck by being preparing for what ever it is you want to do. Bingo!

Have you ever "thanked your lucky stars"?

The harder you work, the luckier you are =)

Yes. I believe you have hit this squarely on the nail. Like you I don't believe in luck, luck actually can suck the life right out of you because as you have so well said, one who is ill-prepared refuses to hold himself accountable and to take action. Yup, you got his Graylin.

Oh, and by the way, I am enjoying your writing style!

The best definition I recall hearing on luck is pretty simple. It is the intersection of opportunity and preparedness. In other words we continue to sharpen our knives so we are ready when the time comes......Dick

That's right Dick, if we stay ready, we don't have to get ready...

Very true. Thank you for the advice.

Your welcome, just my thoughts, unleashed... Thanks to you and WA for allowing me to freely express myself

GE
