Four weeks to pick a niche.

It has been a very interesting four weeks, and only now have I figured out my niche. Well, the first niche.

Thing is, coming up with niche ideas is easy, ridiculously so. Finding a niche that you're willing to stick with? A bit trickier. I have created (and deleted) around five website-babies, but the one that I decided to stick with is on a subject I've been very interested in for a long time. What kept me from pursuing it in the first place is that I have no clue how to include affiliates. I have no clue how to make a single penny with it: but do I care? No. Why? Why wouldn't I care? Because the passion is there. Because it's fascinating to me. Because I have no other outlet to express this interest, and that is enough for me. For now.

If you're passionate about something, go for it. If you can't figure out how to use affiliates, go for it anyway because regardless you still have the valuable knowledge, and experience to make another one... and honestly, from what I've read here from the community and other people's success stories, they'll come. There is always a way to affiliate. Always a way to make your website profitable. Will we always make thousands upon thousands from our first sites that we're cluelessly stumbling our way through despite the immense help and tools we have access to here? Who knows. That isn't for us to decide, but rather aspire toward.

So how did I finally choose my niche? Content, and a vision. If you're one of the people who can wing it and find success with that: I envy you, truly, because I can't do that. I'm meticulous, and detail oriented. I need plans and direction in order to move forward. I need a vision despite knowing full well that the journey to get there is full of obstacles to accommodate, and the end product will probably resemble something other than what I had planned. That's how plans work, they change and mutate and for those of us who operate this way, that's where we need to be flexible. To re-evaluate, assess and make the necessary adjustments to suit the newest pot-hole.

If you can't find a niche, then brainstorm your content.

It'll tell you where to go.

The key is trust.
