My Journey so far

Hi Guys

Back in December 2016 I started a journey into the unknown. i wanted to build an income which would eventually replace my day job and give me lots of free time to write, to blog and to let me do the things that I really love, being creative and being my own boss. I used to run my own at home business and loved it! Then I divorced, My ex-husband took the business to give him an income and, as I had to support my three then young children, i got a full time job. It paid the bills and I was reasonably content. Unfortunately though, children grow up, they get their own lives and no longer need mum. I am though, very proud of them.

However, it left me in a little bit of a dilemma, I no longer wanted to work silly hours to get paid a pittance, I no longer wanted to work hard and feel undervalued and used. I wanted to feel like i did when I was my own boss, then, i had 3 holidays a year, we had built up the business to a point that we could enjoy life and have what we wanted. Don't get me wrong, we weren't millionaires, but we were comfortable and we worked how we wanted, we did things our way and I wanted that back in my life.

Now, unfortunately I don't have an abundance of start-up money, in fact, I don't have any savings or free cash, so for me the only option was to try something different and something new. An Online business.

And so it began...

Up to now, I have listened to everyone, I have watched youtube, checked out every website you can imagine, free e-books, marketing, I know how to build shops, stores, traffic and websites, i understand the importance of Funnels, backlinks and outsourcing, I know, in principal, how to drive visitors to your products or affiliates, to get people to follow you on social media platforms and groups who can help and aid you in your ventures.

The videos I have watched, scams I have read, emails i have clicked on, wondrous headlines that have made bold claims telling you how easy it is to become a millionaire overnight, charismatic marketeers who promise to make you rich, to show you in easy steps how to create your own fortune online with a few clicks of your mouse, and, of course, at the end of each presentation, each webinar, every e-book and every long and drawn-out video, they want your credit card, promising you the earth and never delivering. No surprise there.

What, you may ask, am I telling you? Well for a start, until now i have not made $1.00 in revenue, no, not 1 cent. And even though i have had many, many visitors, to my various sites and social pages, clicks on loads of ads and generally done as much as possible to sell and to promote my wears, I am still a online virgin.

So, here I am again, I have returned to where i started back in December 2016, at Wealthy Affiliates. This, so far (except an online store that i have built myself and is starting to get some traffic) is the only programme that has offered and delivered what they promised, training and help.

And I realised something today doing the job that I dislike, that even though I have done all of those things, tried and failed at so much, I have actually learned loads of valuable stuff and, I am just as hungry, just as enthusiastic and just as excited as I was last December, only this time i am a lot wiser!

Well, I am still in my day job feeling undervalued and used, but now i need to stop moaning, stop complaining and get on with it. I want to be my own boss.
