My dreams are growing!

I am all about growing, and hydroponically so. My target audience is home growers that grow in small scale, I guess you all know what that means.
It means my niche is very tightly connected to Cannabis, as that is what people most grow with the equipment I have knowledge about.
I will not be modest about it, I do consider myself an expert on the subject Hydroponics.

Cannabis? Isen`t that illegal?

No, it is not here in Spain where I operate from, it is legal to have up to 4 plants per person over 18 years in a household.
It is a very booming business here with more and more wanting to do it the legal way and grow for themselves. There are also many old people here discovering Cannabis, because of the simple fact that there is so-called Cannabis clubs on every corner.
My own Doctor reccomended me vaping Cannabis here and said he was sorry he coulden`t give a prescription for it, but he explained how I could buy it at clubs and that home growing was legal.
Some people still finds this controversial, but I will treat it like any other business, and it is certainly a good business to get into at pretty much the right time is my hunch.

My dreams and plans taking form

I have bought myself:

hydroshopper.com
hydromounter.com
hydroseedshopper.com
&
hydroshopperseeds.com (I am not sure which one I like best)

I guess you see where I am going with this, I am thinking 3 ways, 3 separate Domains highly specialized, but also connected and in one Brand.

hydroshopper
would sell equipment and growing systems and be the main thing.
As said highly specialized, dealing only in hydroponic/aeroponic systems and equipment.
I won't sell a thing related to outdoors growing or growing with soil as medium as all other grow shops do.

hydromounter I am thinking more of as a local service where a guy actually comes home to you and fits the system you have chosen to your growing space, setting it all up for you so the customer can begin growing at once.
This could be a popular thing among the elderly, they don't have to carry dirt/soil and do backbreaking work, they get it all set up for them and you simply fill it with a garden hose and empty it by connecting a pump. Anyone can do it.
I think I would be the first at least in Spain to offer such a service.
(I can always train people in different cities to cover more ground if it becomes popular, labor is quite cheap here in Spain and unemployment high, I guess there would be many interested in working with this on commission basis)

Hydroseedshopper
/hydroshopperseeds is pretty self-explanatory, we will sell our own and other brands of seeds we choose.
I know lot of Seedshops I can affiliate with too.
I actually have a couple Cannabis strains I myself have developed by crossbreeding different plants over and over again until I found the characteristics I wanted.

A huge task

I know this no easy or small task and that it will take time and effort, but at least I am on my way to try to do something about it.
I have been thinking way too long without taking action, I guess I have been a little afraid too because I do dream big.
The plan is anyway, if this becomes a reality to start a firm, it cost 3000€ here in Spain to do so, but you can put up anything you use in your business too as equity, it don't have to be money.
This way I and those I will be working with is protected and can only lose this initial 3000€, as the business is a person in itself and we will only be employers in the company.
If you run a one-man company here you can lose your house and everything you own, you are then personally liable for your company`s debt.

Thats it for today, I have only been slacking all day long, Sunday is my Netflix binging day!
Good Night!

PS.
I am glad for criticism too as long as it`s meant constructive, comment away what you think about this.

Hi Rune, A very interesting post- thanks for sharing, Alan.

Good Morning Rune,

Spain is drying out and where ever one can save water is positive.
I know about the laws in Spain on growing Cannabis. Take care to get your license. The Guardia Civil comes to control those plantations and if found illegal the crop is destroyed.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

I am talking about small scale home growers here, not plantations, and I will neither grow anything besides maybe the legal amount of plants to make feminized seeds.
(You can make thousands of seeds from 1 plant)
But thanks for the advice :)
*I am not much for alcohol, so I do enjoy a joint sometimes, currently I only grow 1 plant at a time, that's enough for me.

There you see, everybody has his or her preference.
I need a glass of tinto in the evening to be happy.

All the best, Taetske

It`s btw a great idea for me (If it becomes totally legalized here) to buy up some land and start a plantation if I can get a permit to do so...land is cheap (I would then grow in soil and make "trees", outside growing is quite different from indoors growing), and be a wholesaler of the product itself.
Thx for the idea :)

*but for now its only talk about selling the equipment/seeds to small scale home growers.
I think I could even get in trouble with the law if f.ex my hydromounter biz gets running and I help someone set up a system for more plants than legal, so I am very aware of this.
(This happened to a Norwegian growshop, the owner got at least a couple of years prison, in Norway it's not allowed to grow at all, so the owner who helped people got sentenced for aiding criminal activity)

I also know I will be on the Police radar as an owner of such a shop, and I am not aiming for prison, so doing it legally or not at all.

For sure, better be safe than sorry.
Do you read the Olive Press? A little newspaper with a lot of news on Cannabis. Just Google it.
Quite recently a Cannabis, CBD shop opened in the center of Torremolinos. One of our cats is not well so she gets a drop of CBD oil.

All the best, Taetske

It sounds like you have a great start in the hydroponics niche. I also have a hydro site related to growing cannabis. It is awesome that you have done well with crossbreeding something I have not learned about yet.

Thx...It took me years, its a very slow frustrating process crossbreeding. :)
The sad part is that now they are gone forever, they didn't come with me to Spain.

I was/am a member of Norcan.org for a very long time, and there I had a blog where I made many tutorials and stuff, but the cool thing about it is that I have 585 of my own grow pictures documenting a lot on Imageshack. I can surely use a lot of that material now.

I have heard it is slow and frustrating to do that. I have been focused on edibles and extractions lately. Thank goodness you took photos you can use. Nice to meet someone who knows about hydroponics.

Rune, it seems you have a solid business plan and you're on your way to success!

Jeff

I love the ideas
