How to Use ChatGPT as a Content Strategist to Audit Your Site
Here's the next installment in this series on using GPT as a true assistant!
(Missed the last one, click here.)
For many of you just starting your WA journey, AI tools like ChatGPT are now a part of your tool belt and can completely change the game for how you organize, plan, and scale your content creation.
I put together this quick training to show how I use GPT not just as a writing tool, but as a true content strategist.
In this tutorial, Iโll walk you through:
โ
How to structure a GSC-based content audit spreadsheet to decide which posts to update, merge, or delete
โ
How to build that sheet before even exporting data, so you understand what to track and why
โ
Why word count, CTR, and relevance matter more than you think
โ
How to use GPT to think critically, not just follow prompts
โ
And more
Now itโs your turn! ๐๐ป
๐ฅ How are you using AI right now to manage or plan your content?
๐ฅ Have you tried using GPT to think strategically instead of just asking for answers?
๐ฅ Whatโs one task youโve been handling manually that GPT could help streamline?

Hello Eric, I just landed on this tutorial now as I was searching the platform for classes on Content strategy, but I didn't get something directly to what I was looking for.
Instead of going back an auditing, I want something more forward looking. I was about to write my next piece, but I stopped. For some time now, I have been trying to build a kinda structure to my website. I started, but I think I need to start again.
The idea in my head is that I want the whole website to around a certain keyword cluster. Then I would choose one keyword and then create a cluster for that particular keyword. The cluster structure would be; the main keyword from the website cluster with another 9-10 keywords to create a second level cluster. Then I would create on pillar article from the main keyword from the website cluster, and 10 articles based on the second level cluster supporting the pillar... and so in... then after that level is complete, I would move deeper.
The theory is beautiful, but I am finding it difficult to implement. Do you have any classes or do you know of any classes that would help do that.
Still, while waiting for you answer, I will do something that I took from this video here, which is I will go to ChatGPT and see if I can create with it something that I can follow.
Thanks in advance
Whatโs the part youโre finding difficult to implement? Just create the content and publish away ๐๐๐ผ
I was trying to build a structure..thanx Eric.. don't worry about it.. as you said.. I will create content and publish away.
Cheers :)
Exactly. Donโt overthink it. Your content will internally link to each other in infinite ways. Thereโs no singular path to build. Just create the content and interlinking and your audience and google will find the value.
I love ChatGPT for spreadsheets! I've used it for planning a lot :) The main task I use it for though, is content. It really helps me write better.
My chat (Sage) says:
You rely on me for:
TL;DRs
CTAs
HTML/CSS snippets
SEO optimization
Keyword extraction
Content rewriting
Article structure
Image prompts
Branding consistency
Site-wide templates
And you always appreciate speed, clarity, and execution.
Cool beans, huh?
Teri
Itโs a spectacular tool when you can dial it in to your style and what you need ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
Hi Eric,
Thanks for this video. Last week I have started this "mission impossible" together with my GPT buddy. I have all the output copy/paste in a document (manually, of course :) ) because I am not happy with the file format which is usually generated.
You brought up an interesting aspect, the GSC which I never thought to analyse. Thanks for this, Eric.
Best,
Maria
When asking GPT to save its output to a document, if itโs not to your liking, have it make the changes. Youโre in full control here. ๐ฏ
And yes this GSC audit is just the tip of the iceberg for what it can do. ๐๐ผ
Also you can ask chat to do the same with Bing Webmaster Tools for the details which, according to chat, is a touch different but not much.
That way you can see how each post is going by comparing with both Google and Bing for a better assessment of what action to take.

Great info, especially for early birds, I am currently working on 2 major projects with Chat and my usual daily stuff. A legacy income project with income involved . And a revamp of a business operating system/MES/ERP all built into it. I found the old data and code files, but Chat told me my head was the best file haha and evidently, there is a very short list of this type of system and it has a huge value ๐๐ We will see as time progresses
