What's up WA! It's time for another does of WordPress Wisdom! Today's tutorial covers free themes vs Premium themes, which is better?
A foundational understanding of Wordpress is the absolute key when it comes to bringing your vision to life. All the bells and whistles a theme offers won't mean a thing if you don't know the basics.
Dive in and I'll show you how even a basic mastery of WordPress can turn a "blah" free theme into one that's inviting and elevates your audience's user experience! Then, once you have the basics down, you can dive into the wonderful world of more complex "premium" themes!
Here's a great series to add to your training that I've put together that will take you from WordPress zero to WordPress hero!

I love the series, it has improved my use of BLOCK EDITOR making my GeneratePress Premium even more powerful. I use the premium version because I sometimes do themes for friends and clients and am starting to build out my own design studio. People don't see potential at first glance on the free system but if you are only building for yourself you can use 3 tools to build one hell of a site. 1. GeneratePress Free, Canva FREE, and an AI Suite called RightBlogger which has a free trial and the full unlimited use version under $30 a month.
Great advice as always Eric! I have never paid extra for a premium theme.....
With knowledge of the block editor.... we can customize any free theme anyway we wish to!!
Enjoy a wonderful weekend my friend! :-)

I'm so glad I found your video here. It's very helpful. I was going to build my website on Astra, but they kept saying I need to pay for many different things, like ZipWP. I will be embedding Youtube videos and recipes, so I did add WP Gutenberg as well as WP Recipe Maker. Is this all I need to build my website on a simple theme like GeneratePress?
Different add ons you get are 100% dependent on what you’re using your website for. In general, there’s very little you ever have to pay for when it comes to your website. The free version of plugins are usually all you need, and many plugins’ functions can be replicated just using regular blocks in the block editor.
Glad you enjoyed this!
