Wait.,what? Choosing a niche?
Choosing my Niche
When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, I struggled with coming up with an idea for a niche. Now, I am certain that I am not the only one in this wonderful community to have had this little roadblock right? Right!! Anyways I thought should I promote Wealthy Affiliate., or build my own site around an interest of mine. One of my favorite interests is relaxing! But somehow that just didn't sound very interesting and I am not sure how I could monetize it.
So that being said, I decided on music because I have been a musician in many different groups over the years so it seemed logical to me to pursue that avenue. I am a drummer. Started out in garage bands back in the sixties which was by the way, a great time in music with the Beatles, the Stones and other long haired groups that came over from Great Britain. It was new and it was exciting!! I was about 15 and me and my buds were part of it!!
As mentioned in my profile, the guys I was jamming with the longest (we called ourselves Phase II) did pretty well back then as we played high school dances and other social gatherings and we got paid!!! Four of us splitting up $10. Not a bad gig!! Those same guys and myself still get together once every couple of months as schedules allow and we jam. We don't play out at gigs anymore as it is too much of a chore to lug gear around just to have to go back later and put it all away. (We usually are in bed at 10 pm for pete's sakes!) We play basically for our own enjoyment.
So my website is about All things Drums and percussions, and I am still adding to it. I am thinking that my next project will be to promote Wealthy Affiliate. For me that should be pretty easy and enjoyable because I will be writing about something that I am passionate about! I would hear about WA and see so many great reviews about but it took me a long time to get involved. Now I am so glad I did! This is truly a great community! Thanks for listening to my ramblings!!

I didn't have too much of a problem deciding on a niche. I am having more of a problem learning to use this Wordpress. I laugh because I was a great wordprocessor and as a help desk analyst, I quickly learn and master most applications. For some reason Wordpress and I are not getting along at all. So now that's my rambling and thanks for listening!!
Nothing like music to lift the mood and going with your passion is a good choice wish you all the best with it
No harm in going with your passion Ed.
I remember the 60's well and as you say a great decade for music.
Myself and two other guys got together and called ourselves 'Three's A Crowd'' and played the local clubs and dance halls in and around Edinburgh. I was the singer and was pretty good back then.
Now the beer and ciggies have taken their toll so no more high notes for me lol.
We didn't get the 'Big' money you got though lol
Lucky if we got a coke and a sandwich.
Good times though.
Enjoy your day.

I was in the same boat as you. I sat and thought and thought, what am I passionate about? WA - I love it, Chickens - we have 10 and so many eggs we don't know what to do, Cats - we have 13, dogs - we have 4, teaching - I'm retired, gardening - just learning, Oh wait, dog training and the benefits of clicker training. That's it!!! Of course I started with dog collars and realized it was way too boring, so I switched mid-stream. Now I'm working on a WA site as well, I just want people to find out how great it is.
