During this unforeseen time period in history, many of us begin to lose motivation and hope. I get it, I felt it and it sure is not a great feeling. I was laid off from my job (which I absolutely loved) so I had to find a way to continue doing what I loved. The future is always unpredictable so at times like these, we can find ways to get creative and train ourselves to be stronger than ever, both mentally and physically. Since I was working at the gym each day, I now have transitioned to virtual training my clients. It's of course not the same, but at least I can continue to work and challenge myself each day to get better and better at this. To feel this confidence and drive, I have to train my mind each day.....through physical activity. Whether it's doing a quick yoga session or to ride my bike for 30 minutes, I am able to just focus in on myself and develop a sharper mind-to-muscle connection. This focus truly does transform us into our daily lives. One of which is actually writing THIS. I encourage you to find a way to stay somewhat active each day to keep the blood flowing and to lower serotonin levels. I struggle with PTSD and anxiety due to an experienced trauma (refer to my website to read the story), and through exercise and meditation, I was able to keep my stress levels down and feel more sane.

Good teaching. Thank you for sharing.

of course. It is my pleasure =)

Welcome.

Hi Eva,

Yes, much like you I have definitely been missing the gym.

I've got myself into a daily habit since we've been in lockdown in the UK (just over 5 weeks now) and it appears to be working for me.

Admittedly, I've had about 3 "off days" in that time where I just can't seem to focus and I don't feel like doing anything, but I guess we're all going to have days like that,

My basic routine involves doing a workout first thing, either at home or at my local park. I own a few kettlebells, sandbags, medicine balls and dumbbells, so I'm getting a half decent workout in at home (but, oh how I miss squatting with a bar on my back and deadlifting).

On alternate days I go for a run, or do some sprint training in the park, or just take a skipping rope with me. I've also set myself a few "30 day challenges"... I completed 30 days of at least 100 burpees (with press ups) a day, and have actually gone well over 100 on a number of days (let's not talk about how I felt after doing 500 burpees last Sunday, LOL).

I'm currently doing 100 goblet squats and 100 press ups a day, and this is typically on top of my workouts.

Following my workout I spend 15 minutes meditating. Just simply sitting in silence concentrating on my breath. Then this is followed by 15 minutes of gratitude journaling. And then another 10 minutes planning out what I want to achieve for the day.

I'm then onto breakfast and start working on content for my websites and doing stuff here at WA.

Most days I find it's about 2pm-3pm before I even look up and take a breath.

However, this is typically when my mind can start to stray and I occasionally wish I could have a life with a little more normality.

Oh, what I'd give to just sit in the sun outside a coffee shop, reading a newspaper, and watching the world go by, Aahh, the simple things in life.

Thanks
Partha

Wow. That is all quite inspiring! You sure do push yourself to the MAX. I really do like the idea of meditating after a workout. I am going to begin doing that as my recovery...normally I meditate at a random time in the day which can throw me off schedule. I will mediate tomorrow after my workout. Thank you!! =)

The simple things in life can always be enjoyed! At least you take your time to meditate and to simply clear your head. Sitting at a coffee shop and watching the world go by is a form of meditation in itself.

Keep doing you!!
Thanks for the post.

Train train train... couldn't agree more. Training is such an obvious yet underutilized leverage point!
Love the message. Also, a shoutout for meditation. Do it every day myself.

Yes, totally. It becomes so helpful even on a subconscious level.
Thanks Koda =)
