Letting go of the past
We are what we eat. We are who we were raised to be. We are who we hang out with. Yes, these are true but they don't necessarily have to be true. If we are struggling with qualities that were passed on to us from family, we can make changes. We are in full control of our daily habits, conversations, reactions (non-verbal or verbal) and decisions. What it all starts with, of course, is developing self-awareness. Understanding why we are the way we are is key. We can reflect on this and gain some deeper insight. What happened in our past, does not have to deterimine how our future will be. We can choose who we hang out with, what we eat, what we do on our free time, etc. Just because we were taught to do things a certain way, does not mean that it is the right way. Life doesn't have to be the way that others expect it. Follow your intuition and be your own best friend. Listen to yourself when you need to, don't force yourself to do things just because its expected of others, and chase the dream that you want to live. Always, at the end of the day, it will boil down to how you feel. Make the right decisions and treat yourself with kindness and respect. Remember, you are your own person and you can make a change to anything you want......

Thank you Ewa for this insightful post. It is a great reminder for me that the past does not have to define our future.
Thanks again.

Of course =) It wasn't easy to make this adjustment since it is in our nature to behave and do things the way we were taught. I worked hard on becoming self aware and it made all the difference. Thank you Ray for the feedback.
