No matter the breed, there is a dog for everyone, who loves animals. Over the past seventy five years, we have befriended and nurtured Labrador retriever's, Jack Russell, Border Collie, Basset hound, Beagles, and a whole lot of rescue pups. I believe God gave us our Dogs so life for us would be fuller and happier, while giving of ourselves to love and care for them. Breaks my heart whenever I visit an Animal shelter and see all the pups seeking nothing more than a person to show care and affection. I would love to be able to build a series of Animal NO KILL shelters across this Country. I sure many of you feel the same way. Most times as not, whenever I need run a local errand, I always take Eddie and Lilly, my Jack Russell pups along for the ride. I also have a special carrier pack that I can wear to carry them in a reverse backpack and take them for a ride on my Harley Trike. Then if we happen to see an Ice Cream place i will stop and get a PUP Cup for them. Lots of fun and they are so enjoyable at all times.

Thanks for sharing your story. Dogs are fabulous company and a lot of fun.

I'm horrified at how many get abandoned or abused.

I have had rescue dogs for about 50 years - a mixture from Old English Sheepdog to Labradors and Jack Russells and my current puppy is a malinois/collie mix - Loki and he certainly lives up to his name as God of Mischief. We found him when he was 2-3 weeks old abandoned in the middle of a motorway.

He is terrified of everything and we are trying to desensitize him. His safe places are behind my computer chair, in my Jeep or if he gets scared when walking he tries to jump into my arms but at 22kg he's just a bit too big for me to carry, so its find the nearest place where I can sit down and give him the cuddle he needs. He's very good at walking on his backlegs until we find a seat as generally he won't let go of my arm.

Dogs are adorable and give so much love and companionship.
