Bluehost vs GoDaddy Comparison Results
I work in tandem with a face2face buddy also striving towards creating online and passive income streams. Yesterday, she strongly suggested BLUEHOST as a domain host provider. As I had never heard of them before, and all my domains were stubbornly held with GoDaddy, I felt motivated to research and compare / contrast these two host-providers.
*You will find links to the two most useful and simplified descriptor-sites below. It was these summaries which led me to conclude that the suitable next step would be to migrate at least two of my domains and hosting to BLUEHOST.
Why only two? Because currently I have no sites at all available to the public. The goal for April is to get two sites up 'n running for public use. BLUEHOST has a very user-friendly reputation that is most necessary for a beginner like myself: User-friendliness in terms of the speed and helpfulness of their human2human exchanges and user-friendliness in terms of their cPanel backend for webpage development.
As if to immediately test the user-friendliness AND efficiency of BLUEHOST's human2human exchange, I made a mistake in the migration process of these two domains. I forgot to change the option in the drop-down menu from a 36-month package to a 12-month package, which is what I can best afford today. This error meant that my bank account was immediately debited 400€ more than I budgeted.
Immediately and in somewhat of a panic, I contacted BLUEHOST customer services via online chat and chatted with “James” who put me in contact with both the Site Verification and Billing departments. To my surprise and pleasure, the representives of BLUEHOST were able and willing to fix my mistake and reimburse my unintended over-expense same-day, within five hours of my call. The five-hour wait having to do entirely with time-zone distances between Europe and the USA than for any slowness on their part. BLUEHOST themselves were quite quick to understand my error and need and to move in my favor. They also managed to do this while correctly and quickly protecting me against possible fraud (hence the Site Verification department, which I dealt with first).
THE WHOLE TRANSFER PROCESS WAS VERY EASY and QUICK.

Hi Emme, I've used BlueHost and HostGator and always been happy with them, purchasing my domains from GoDaddy and Namecheap. As a domain provider I prefer GoDaddy as once you have navigated all the sales pitches they throw at you, their platform I find really easy to use and they are there 24/7 to help you. I've called them many times and they are great!
Since joining WA I have moved my hosting over here because the hosting is included in my membership. However I understand why someone might want to be independent and still have hosting elsewhere - whatever works best for the individual.
I've always been a fan of diversification, especially when it comes to one's "assets".
Since starting online in 2005, I have always used GoDaddy as a domain registrar. I used them as a host, at that same time. Not a happy experience; they hold EVERYTHING in their hands.
So, while I enjoy GD as a registrar, I have used Hostgator for most of my hosting.
Over the last two years, I've also started using BlueHost, and find them very, very good. Both are top-notch hosting companies, but I am moving more and more towards BlueHost, as a result of some matters which I felt were not handled well by Hostgator .
(Especially for someone who's been a client with them for a good 7 years or so... and had over 60 sites hosted with them, at the height of business.)
To this day, I always advocate a degree of independence, by having a separate registrar, and a separate hosting company.

Having eliminated both Startlogic and GoDaddy as Hosts, I am THOROUGHLY but THOROUGHLY satisfied with BlueHost as both a domain and host provider. They have made this "get up and running" process unbeatably doable and easy. I fully intend to become their Affiliate Marketer as it is SO easy to stand behind one's recommendations.

I tried GoDaddy way back when. I didn't last more then a few months with them because they were inflexible (as far as hosting, anyway). There were modules that I asked them to install and they refused. Plus, they were very non industry standard (no cpanel, etc.) I don't know if they changed since then, but I haven't heard that they made any improvements.
I haven't had too many troubles with Bluehost, although one time they suspended a website of mine because it got hacked. They never even notified me that there was a problem. I think since revised their methods because I do get contacted now if something happens and they work with me now.

GoD is certainly an industry standard by now so many trust them simply because they've been around for so long. Who has not heard of them? Around that long, they have to be good, or so the logic goes. But I too have found them inflexible, especially now that I began to transfer domains. ... Well, that's ok.
In their favor, yes, they have since upgraded to cPanel.

I love Bluehost. I have been with them for 1 year now and have 2 to go. You described them well. If there is anyway possible, they will help you! They answered some really dumb questions from me when I first started. I have given them a break in the last 9 months though.

At the end of the day we are all on a journey, learning and growing as we move forward.
I built my first website last year and as an absolute raw newbie with no support, I learned via You Tube and reading. (UG)
I think it took a few years off my life in the process, it was hard.
I didn't know a C Panel from a door panel.
Mind you I am slightly better at it nowadays, that's why I just wish I would have found WA back then, I would have been streets ahead.
Nevertheless as they say, the best time to join was yesterday and the next best time is today, so I'm happy I'm here.
I just love the simplicity of everything, I am, as they say down-under - 'totally wrapped'!

I've used BH & GoDaddy and I find GoDaddy a bit complex and full of upsells. BH is very good though.
For the real purpose of what we are doing here I think it pays to use what is available via WA for 'niche' sites, at least until we can objectively determine that our own domain and own hosting is better.
For me, right now - I just don't know.
In accordance with Kyle's advice for promoting the Affiliate side of WA, I registered a domain with namecheap and then changed the DNS settings to WA. Really simple. This was for a WA Affiliate site that I am presently working on.
I am also setting up another product/authority site this month but I will use WA for the subdomain and also hosting.
Unless someone has a lot of experience and they are pretty well seasoned online I do think they should utilize this platform in order to a) keep it simple & b) reduce costs.
By paying yearly as I did, it essentially keeps the cost down to approx $30 per calendar month for Training, website themes, domains & hosting.
For a relative newbie like me this represents a one stop shop where everything is totally accessible and of tremendous value.

Following your lead to get 2 sites up and running by months' end, I too want one to be an Affiliate site but, since I already had a relevant domain purchased and parked, I pushed it forward instead of going the one-stop-shop WA route you mentioned.
Additionally, I must confess to not yet having started the AFFILIATE BOOTCAMP training (see left side bar) which is probably a requisite, hahah ... and it IS calling me ... so Much to do on this newbie learning curve, eh? ;-)

I have had mixed results from Bluehost some of the support team are extremely helpful but some of them seem to to be unhelpful because they are under pressure I en ded up losing all my posts (over 300) So if you are using bluehost I advise you to back up your posts
