A True Change of Perspective
I have been a member here for about 10 Years I think. Despite not always being active, I have maintained my membership because I have always believed in what WA has to offer.
My biggest obstacle has always been myself.
Like a lot of people, life has not always been kind to me. And that has led to a lot of struggling which for a long time I didn't realise or at least didn't acknowledge. That has meant I was always finding ways to get in my own way when it comes to the path to success.
In the past year I have a mindset reset in many areas of my life. That has come from a combination of finally feeling that I had some stability, some self reflection and a bit of wisdom that has come with age.
How has this led to a reset?
Achieving stability has meant that I could start looking further into the future rather than the shorter term mindset of just making it to next week or next month.
What changes have I made?
- Investing for retirement (even though I am a couple of decades away, I would like it to happen sooner rather than later. Long periods of unemployment have left me about a decade behind.)
- It's ok to do what makes me happy (Travelling!!), even when some people judge me for it.
- Rejecting societies expectations and creating my own.
- Embracing that while my current job gives me stability, I know I don't want to be doing it forever.
- Returning to Wealthy Affiliate (again)!! Which when I succeed this time will give me the freedom to do all the above and I hope so much more.

I totally understand!! Don’t be too hard on yourself though! Sticking to WA was a great decision even when you were unemployed etc…
The part that resonates the most with me is the 10 years of being your own worst enemy. Like you I have been here over a decade but things like consistent action and spendint too much time in chats and not enough time building content has held me back. I have seen hundreds of people pass me in earnings in a fraction of the time I have been here and the fault is nobody but my own. This year will be a no excuses attack on success.
