I spent three days just choosing the theme! Finally got it up, got some posts added to it...and now it seems so blah..so ineffective...and I am feeling clueless as what to do next!

I knew the niche was broad... but felt I could work it. Now I don't think I even got close and it is discouraging...going to hang loose, take a break, and watch and learn around here.

Anybody relate to where I am at???

Think of it as a sculpture in progress. Right now you may have blocked out the basic forms and you can SORTA see what it could be. But you'll need to come back again and again to chip a bit here and a bit there until the figure is finally released. The artist rarely takes a wrecking ball to the thing! Just caress it into what you envision and it'll get there. Be patient.

Thank you, I will keep chipping away...today is another day and things look better. Got to learn to take more breaks!

Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 2,400 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out: PS.

Hi Kyle, Well simple I got. I definitely know how to change themes lol..must have tried over thirty...I guess I like my content, and the website ok... but attract anyone? I doubt it. It looks like just a personal site where I am expressing my experience.

I had that feeling too when I first started off. Just follow the training, make sure you do everything it says to do. You'll get out of this slump soon enough. If however the niche really isn't working for you, either because it is too broad or you just don't like it anymore, you can always try a new one.
As long as you know that what you've done up to know isn't a waste of time, but a learning experience. Don't quit now ellozz

Thanks, Kvvt! I appreciate your response. Quit isn't in my vocabulary....! I know I tend to take the training in pieces instead of listening all at once... I am impatient too, I guess. The learning experience is good! This is the best learning environment I have ever been in. I think I am having problems discovering my passion...which is silly because I have so many.
