Are shorter or longer posts better?

Lately I have been having longer posts - over 1,000 words but yet is not as frequent as I used to. However before I used to be more frequent and usually hover around 800 words or less.

I just feel I have a lot to say on a topic and I my time to write has been cut down tremendously so when I do have time I write and write and write.

However for readers, which one is better? Shorter and more frequent or longer with more information and less frequent.

I feel like I am not going to like the answer, but ask anyway!
