Site Email Issues!
Is activating SiteSSL (HTTPS) the cause of my inability to access my Site Email inbox?
Has anyone else encountered this?
I refer to the Site SSL because the issue
1. Started soon after I switched it on last night
2. Note HTTPS as opposed to the http URL, as it was before
the https is now deleted
I am now told on the above when I try to log into my email inbox, (image is too large to include all of the message here:
'Your connection is not private' 'Attackers may be trying to steal your information from...' and it lists my website name and a 'Move back to safety' blue button is offered to me.
All that being said, how do I resolve the issue without having to switch off Site SSL, (unless I have to)?Is this an issue for Site Support only?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you all from EJ

Not everybody gets this issue. It can be 'overridden' if it should happen to you. You will get a page warning you 'Your connection is not private', with a blue button saying 'Back to safety'.
I am going to copy & paste here a part of Site Support's response to me and you can decide from it. It is already in the first response to this post below, but it will be easier to view here in the post itself.
Site Support response: ...'For now, you should click on Advanced button and then click on "Proceed to webmail. (your own email address (unsafe)".
I did this and got into my inbox. The warning will still be there but you can get in.

EJ

I am having the same issue and get the same response with my newest email account. I have another email that goes directly to Atmail when I open it. How can I make the connection secure so I can open the email?
Hello pruf, have you contacted site support with the above question?
I can only 'hope' someone who knows what your answer is will respond to you here, so that both you and others may benefit. from their reply.
Another suggestion is to put out the question to the community at large and someone will have the answer or some suggestion.
I do not have an direct answer for you myself regretfully.

Hello Eleslie did you get this resolved. I have had issues with my email for over a month or more (no exaggeration) and I have contacted support and spoken with Carlson but nothing has been fixed. I was given a suggestion, that I will not put here but just know I am very disappointed. Please let me know if you were able to get this resolved, how, and who did you speak with, thanks!~Sherry
Hello Sherri. I see what you say. I too contacted site help and they gave me some instruction to, let me say, 'by pass being locked out' of my inbox.
I did as they said, and it worked. I can get in, but the issue of the danger alert warning was still there.
See the comment from Jay below. I copied and paste their response so he could see it. Feel free to use it and I hope it works for you too.

Yes, I seen your response after I sent my message to you. I was able to get in, however the initial issue of not being able to write in the body of the email (to respond or write a email) is still not working; which is the issue when using Google Chrome :) Now when I use Internet Explorer as suggested, I can write in the body of the email but it will not send....so in essence my situation has become worse and there has been no resolution. I do thank you for posting this I am glad that I am not the only one with email issues. Good Luck!
Hello Deb, thanks for your response. i have put in a ticket, after a asking the question as that was the advise given to me. A response came about 4 hours ago. They are working on it.
I have put a reply below to Jay and for anyone else who has the same issue of what they advised me to do in the mean time.
You are right, contacting site support is the way to go.

Good question. I haven't turned on SSL for all my sites yet so I'd like to know if this would affect me when i do and how to resolve it.
Hello Jay, it's good to 'see' you. Regarding the above question of mine. I took advise and contacted site support. They are working on it, and have been for a few hours now. It is different, in terms of 'weight' for me than it would be for you.

Ok thanks for that EJ. Guess it would be better to not get the warning in the first place at all.

The best way is to add the --ignore-certificate-errors tag to Google Chrome to bypass this temporary while waiting for the real fix.

Hello Kevin, thank you for the information offered. I have clicked on the link just and read it.
My site inbox issues were resolved eventually by Site Support some time ago now.
