One or the other?
Hello dear co-affiliates,
My husband and I talked today and I realised that I have been overthinking the niche a bit. That's how it feels, at least. I ended up deciding to become an affiliate for WA but haven't even completed reading lesson 1. I really want to do the certification with a "real" niche and just pick one, then learn and act upon new ideas as I move along in the training.
My goal now is to set a timer for 30 minutes and have a niche picked when the timer goes off. No overthinking or overanalyzing. I do want the segment to be very distinct, so I will most likely go with a very specialized product and work with that.
Thank you for joining me. What do you think? Love, Eileen.

Hello Eileen,
Make sure you choose carefully. If you get 6 months down the road and decide to change niches that could be discouraging (though NOT the end of the world and you will be able to start a second site much faster since you will know what to do).
You don't need to agonize over the choice forever but if it takes a day or two that is fine!
Here is what I learned in choosing a niche: Generalization vs specialization in choosing a niche and domain name. Make sure you do some keyword research before you choose. If you want to promote WA that is great but there is a lot of competition so try to go at it from a unique angle.
Most importantly, make sure you choose a niche you are VERY interested in. Don't choose something you just think will make money. It will get too monotonous to write about that topic for years if you are not genuinely interested in it. If you don't feel inspired it will be harder to keep up with adding content.
Good luck!
Jessica
Hello Jessica,
Thank you for your valuable input! I've chosen a niche! And I'm happy about it. I will go from here and learn along the way.
Just read your blog on choosing a niche. Good points you have :)
I have chosen a niche that I wish to become more knowledgeable in. right now it feels like the right choice.
Thank you! I wish you all the best.
Regards, Eileen.
TAKE YOUR TIME! Tell Hubby that "choosing the niche" is the most important aspect of this whole thing.
HA I wish I could've chosen my niche in 30 minutes.
No, it took me YEARS to choose the right niche and MANY MORE years to master it and be the go to for problems when they arise.
Take your time. Make sure you're promoting something that A) you're knowledgeable about B) have a passion or compassion for and C) you see a HUGE market of keywords available for ranking for on Google, don't just trust Jaaxy, go to Google after you find great keywords and "qualify" them there first.
If haven't yet read my BIO, please do, and follow me and I'll be happy to help you.
Best,
Marshall Adler
Wow! Thank you for your quick reply, Marshall. This was like a breath of fresh air.
I will do that and get back to you.

Yes and I have 3 kids. Congrats on yours! Family is everything to me and I know that when choosing a niche you feel rushed to pick something and start providing but the niche is the biggest key to all success in WA. Being an affiliate of WA is a great choice too and there's several sub niche markets you can tackle but be choosey and pick what you feel you can devote ALL time too building a brand around and making yourself be seen as the Authority on it.
Thank you! It's amazing how having kids has changed the way I spend my time. What really lights a fire in me is helping others live a value-based life, making value-based decisions, every step of the way. I feel that being a WA affiliate can help me do this, by promoting WA to people who have freedom and family as one of their core values. What makes me doubt, is that when my gut shuts off and my logic kicks in saying "it's too broad of a niche" or "it's not a 'proper' niche". I find myself somehow coming back to the promotion of a value-based life again and again. I want to develop a tool for people to discover and map out their core values, which can provide them with a valuable compass from which to navigate life. Do you think this is tangible enough for the business world?
Yes absolutely but you need to realize what market your catering too. If you're trying to help people with families create a value compass that helps people get more organized and thus work better to achieve their goals then what you sell is Time Management and Productivity. That's the niche, and the audience could very well be "working" Moms and Dads. Cheers.
Awesome!!! PM and tell me what it is, and I’ll do some initial keyword research for you to help you in that regard. Cheers.

Interesting concept. Personally I would not pick a niche within a certain time frame. This is you, something that you are passionate about, and want to share with the world. All the best.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, lesabre. I appreciate your input. All the best to you too.
