This is the 2nd time in a few months that I have been layed off. The last time this happened I was out of work for 3 weeks and that put my family far enough behind that we still

Life is full of uncertainties, starting an online business is a wise choice.

I couldn't agree with you more. That is the very reason I joined WA.

I'm so sorry - that's just very grim. Can't say much that wouldn't sound patronising. You've got through it once so you will get through it again. Best wishes.

Right you are. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your job. My suggestion here is to not look at it as a bad thing but as sign that is telling you to take action with WA and be your own boss.

My motto has always been no matter how loyal you are, no matter how hard you work, if you don't own the company you don't control your destiny.

I've tried working for people in the past and the thought of them having my life in their hands does not sit very well with me.

I lost my job during the .com melt down in the early 2000 and it was the best thing that happened to me. I started my own company and have been self-employed ever since then. Now I am here to learn how to take my passions online and make lots of $$$.

Keep your head up, take actionable steps, celebrate your successes everyday no matter how small they may be, and you will reach your goal.

I have to agree with you 100%. Companies are no longer loyal to their employees and then they wonder why employees are no longer loyal to them. Go figure, right?

I have always hated working for someone else, knowing all along that I was making them rich.

I don't like being told when I can take vacation, how long I can take it for or whether or not I can even take one at all. Along the same lines we are told when we have to be at work, when we can leave, how much money we can make or whether or not we even have a job or not.

I have lost several jobs and deep down inside I know the reason why. I honestly hate working for other people. I don't mind working with other people, it's the working for them part that I despise. I was not born to be a slave to any system or person. I am an independent free will thinker. I have something to contribute to this world, but I don't have to contribute in a way that is dictated to me by others.

I will definitely follow your advice and keep on moving forward.

Whilst I sympathise with you and understand your situation I do not think that WA is a forum for this subject. This is a learning platform that people pay a fee too gain knowledge.

Everyone can offer encouragement but remember we are all here to learn about affiliate marketing and in doing so we ask for help and also share our knowledge if and when appropriate.

Asking for advice regarding any move in your personal life should be kept private.

We all have our challenges in life and there is a time and place to 'air' them. Personally, I don't think WA is the place.

As a famous person once said "for things to get better, you have to get better"

Best wishes.

Russ

I realize that WA is not the forum for handouts, but I am not looking for one of those. I am looking for other ways to make more immediate money while still working my WA projects. Whether the ways to make money are on or offline does not matter to me. So if you know of a way I can do that, please PM me.

I would say, Swift, that you have two things to do:

-Apply for every job that interests you. Forget about qualifications. If you know you can do it, apply for it. You never know who might call.

-TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN in the Wealthy Affiliate courses. This community is focused on helping US build income, relationships, and experiences that will help us become successful and learn how to lead others.

I myself lost it all in January. It has not been fun, and I am also married with a child. Facing eviction, a broken down vehicle and NO job prospects is very scary. But PLEASE believe me when I say that you need to take advantage of WA (while you have access). Take a step back and breathe. Put things into perspective and realize that you are in a position to put the things you have learned so far into real practice, and build something wonderful. Don't worry about what others might think. They don't know what you know...and won't if you don't show them.

Believe in yourself Swift. That's the best advice I can give.v

Please remove my name from this comment and replace it with Edwards. You obviously have the wrong person here...

Sorry about that. I had just liked a comment of yours, and your name stuck. Thanks for that :)

No problem I knew it was a mistake ;) - thanks for fixing it.

I like your advice the best so far. Do what you have to do to get the job of supporting my family done is sound advice. I like the part about applying for jobs that interest me the most whether I have all the qualifications or not is irrelevant. When your attitude is right the facts don't matter! Most of the time what people present as facts are just their opinions anyway.

The only thing we can do in this situation is hope, pray, and keep looking for opportunities. I've actually paid for jobs by offering things such as money, or a certain type of help to others. Word of mouth is a good way to find jobs. Meeting new people, and talking with them enough to see if they are in a position to help. I've done this at lounges before where you meet people and get to know them. I've had plenty of jobs offered to me this way. Even some I've taken!
The system sucks doesn't it? Pm me if you want to, I may be able to help you out with some grocery money if you need it. You may have a service I could use temporarily. :)
Well, certainly this program can not work quickly like some have said.
And, I wouldn't even consider WA as a means to come up with quick cash. I think you know this.
You have my vote about talking about it, here, there, ,yonder! Whether this is the right place or not, it makes no difference. Telling people your situation is the very thing that can help you!
Rick
Good luck!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to. Yes, the system does suck. It is corrupt from the top down, but that is another issue altogether, and I know that it will not be fixed in my lifetime.

Thanks for listening to me vent my frustrations even if this is not the right place for it.

I will send you a PM regarding services I may be able to offer to you.

I agree with you, but the city I live in has never really paid all that well for any job unless you are a lawyer, doctor or something similar.

Sorry about your job loss. I know that having a reliable income makes it easier to be able to do IM on the side until you can make a living at this. Also, all I can say again is Sorry about your job loss. Same thing happened to me twice in the past 2 years.

I appreciate that. Sorry to see others go through this. I would not wish it on anyone, but hopefully things will turn around real soon.

I have worked my way through the lessons and I am slowly writing out content, but I guess what I should have asked is how do I make money now that I have no job? I can't afford to be another 3 weeks without pay again. I have no other source of income.

Like I said, wrong forum mate. This is the sort of question you should be asking the Welfare Department in you country, I am assuming you have one. We can't help you with this. You either need to get something cranking quick smart using the skills WA teaches you, or get another job. I say do both. You absolutely can't rest on your laurels and nobody here can help you with your financial situation, past handing you out money, I doubt this will happen so go forth with the prior.

I just had a quick look at your WA profile. It would seem you have a lot more skills that a lot of other people that are also struggling to turn a buck. I say get applying for jobs quick smart, come back to this later. You have a family depending on you.

I am not looking for a hand out Corey just some direction and maybe a little empathy from others that have been here before.

No worries Edward, that is just what I thought I had given you, but you just kept coming back with more questions. So I felt I really had to drive my point home. The only person who can solve your financial problems is you, and I agree with Russ, regardless of what anyone thinks or says. This is the wrong place for this discussion. This is an open education platform and online business community, not a personal problem support network. If this is the sort of topic I was having to discuss here on a day to day basis I would most certainly leave. There is many other forums online designed specifically to discuss the sorts of problems you are having. This is most certainly not one of them.

I genuinely hope things get better for you, and don't for one second think I have not been where you are. When I was a 15 year old kid I lived in my car, paid for my own schooling, bathed in a river, and ate biscuits for dinner. Even the most successful of people have had struggles, and maybe one day I might find myself in a situation like yours again.

However this is not the point, the point is how we handle it. I fear asking an open ended question like the one you have on here is not the way right way to handle your situation. You could be spending this time bettering your situation as opposed to what you are currently doing.

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going"

The others just get crushed.

Sincerely,

Corey Lust

First off, I'm sorry to hear that. Secondly, if I was you I would start working my way through the lessons here and become your own boss ;) - other than that I think the question may be better suited to a different forum...

How important is private registration when purchasing a domain name?

I'd recommend it, if only to avoid https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/a-strange-phone-call You'll find that some registrars, ie. Namecheap offer free WhoIs Guard for the first year. Rich.

Is Namecheap a pretty good place to get domain names overall? Price good, service reliable and so on?

Yup, I think Namecheap is probably one of the most favoured registrars at the mo. within the community. They don't inundate you with upsells like GoDaddy, they provide free WhoIs Guard for the first year, and if you use the coupon code "buythedomain" you'll get a .com at half price, c.$6. You can also change the DNS at the point-of-purchase with Namecheap, which is a plus as it saves waiting for DNS to populate. Rich.
