What Are The Benefits To Your Business By Being An Ambassador In Wealthy Affiliate?
I have been asked several times how was I able to become an Ambassador in less than a year? It is truly possible because I am not the only one. There are several other names that come to mind who have become ambassadors in much less time than me. There are three areas a member needs to be really good at. Helper. Creator. And Activity.
It was our co-founder Kyle who encourages every member to strive to become Ambassadors of Weathy Affiliate. He wouldn't ask that if it didn't help in one's affiliate marketing business. I thought it was a good idea to answer this question using as examples what I did to advance to this rank.
You can see what rank you are in your profile summary at the top left corner in your Dashboard. Once you enter the ranks of the top 200, you can review what your position is in the areas of Helper, Creator, Activity and the over all member rank.
Doing the following will often help you to rise in ranks faster and eventually become an Ambassador.
Helper
Engaging With Others and Answering Questions
Engaging with other members by answering questions and making helpful suggestions in the discussion areas helps to develop you as an Ambassador.
Isn't it helpful to ask visitors to your website posts to give you comments and feedback? This recognizes the value of their time to read your article as well as valuing their opinions.
By doing that in the Wealthy Affiliate Platform you get experience in performing this function.
Giving Site Feedback and Site Comments
Another great perks of being a Premium member is having a forum where you can provide feedback and comments to the website posts of members as well as being able to request the same on your posts. Each comment or feedback earns one cash credit. It takes two cash credits to earn $1.00. It also takes two cash credits to earn the right to request one feedback or comment for your own website article.
Providing comments and feedback helps another member improve their post writing skills. And requesting the same will help you in the same way.
It is possible to earn enough cash credits to cover the monthly membership fee.
One of the ways to learn how to write good content is to study what other successful affiliate marketers do by visiting their websites and reading their posts. When you do, it is fitting to leave them comments or feedback in their comments section.
Live Chat
Any member can ask a question or make a comment to get assistance from another member in real time in Live Chat. This can be a hit-and-miss result as one's timing of being there has to coincide with other knowledgeable members being there too. By coming here at different times of the day you can figure out which times can be the most productive.
When you are able to help others there who ask questions. This falls under the category of being a helper.
Creator
Blog Posts As A Content Creation Lab
Would you say that the quality of the content you publish in your website is critical towards attracting and maintaining the attention of your visitors? If you believe so, wouldn't you like to have a training lab where you can develop your unique style of writing?
The WA Blog Post area does exactly that. As you get more confident in writing here, you can transfer that confidence to your website posts. We are also taught that in order to rank high in the search engines, it is important to have your articles run at least 1000 words.
This is a valuable benefit indeed.
Writing Content For Your Website
I highly recommend using the Site Content area of the Website Tab to write content for your affiliate marketing website. One of the reasons being the editor here is better than that available on the WordPRess platform. Moreover, it gets recognized to your Creator rank.
Creating Training
Any Premium member with over three months duration is eligible to write training modules. You can earn from $5 to $15 per training depending on which level you reach. Marion Black explains this very well in her article:

One of the best ways to become an expert is to have the ability to train others. At this level of understanding you can use that knowledge to help one excel in one's own affiliate marketing business.
Activity
Asking Questions
One of the great benefits of being a member at Wealthy Affiliate is to be able to ask questions that gets posted in the Questions area of the Dashboard. This gives an opportunity to knowledgeable members to help you our by answering your question.
When you get stuck in your training or have a question relating to your website, this is one area that you can use to get help.
Attending Webinars
Here is where you can get in depth and clear answers to virtually every aspect of creating an effective money earning website. This can directly help your business.
Participating in Discussions
There are several areas on the platform where members can discuss ideas about building an affiliate marketing business. Like reading the blogs of other members and making comments or asking questions.
The easiest way to find these areas is on the Dashboard, Just scroll down and you will find a wealth of members blogs.
Some of these are success stories. Read those and congratulate the members posting about their success.
Welcoming New Members
New members come from two camps. Starter free members. And those who upgrade or sign on as Premium.
When you scroll down your Dashboard, the first set of new members listed are Premium members. After scrolling down deeper you will come across new members who have signed on as free starter members.
When you get referrals of your own it is heartening to see the great welcome they receive here. This can directly help your bottom line as new free members feel really welcomed here and are more likely to upgrade to Premium.
When your referral completes the task of writing their profile you earn cash credits. And when they upgrade to Premium, you earn a substantial commission.
Conclusion
The main purpose of joining Wealthy Affiliate is to learn how to create a successful affiliate marketing business using your website. This is accomplished by going through the various relevant training and executing what you learn.
I suggest approaching one's quest to become an Ambassador as a secondary means to achieve these ends. There is a danger of achieving Ambassador status and not contributing sufficiently towards your business.
It comes down to being mindful of this balance and weighting your activities more towards creating your website and learning how to do that well by writing content that sells. This requires a thorough understanding of SEO, driving traffic and generating conversions.
Patience is necessary as it takes writing a boat load of content for the search engines like Google to recognize your website as being an authority site. Hence, do not sacrifice creating content by solely focusing on your rank in Wealthy Affiliate. Instead, use your journey to becoming an Ambassador to leverage your business building activities as I have outlined above.
Once you become an Ambassador, meaning being in the top 25, it is possible to fall in and out of that level. Don't worry about this, Rather focus on creating a successful business that will start to earn you a growing stream of passive income.

Good information for people wanting to know about Ambassadorship.
I do not think it matters one way or the other on our niche sites.
But if promoting WA to a non-member or a starter member, then I think it gives one tremendous respect and can only help to convert these folks to Premium.
After all, only 1 out of every 80,000 WA members is an Ambassador at any given time. That makes me proud to be one of so few.
Would you rather have an Ambassador who is ranked 25 or 2500?

Thanks for your insights Mark. There is no doubt that it feels great being in the top 25. I did not mention that another benefit of being there is that it gives one an advantage of working with ones referrals to help them convert to Premium.
In wrote an article recently on my website on How To Make Money With Wealthy Affiliate that was aimed at individuals researching our company. Being an Ambassador will definitely have some impact from the perception of being an authority on how to use the WA platform most effectively.
Hence there are monetary advantages too of being an Ambassador and I wished I had alluded to that too.

Writing posts, regardless where, will help improve writing skills. You also think ideas for writing, researching.
I have struggled with images within this format. I don't have problems on my website, but here my pictures are cut off. Any ideas?

When you mention that your images are cut off are they the free ones available in Site Content? Or are they images of your own you upload?
The free images in Site Content should not cut off except for the cover picture where the height is restricted.
If your own pictures are cut off perhaps they are too large. You should edit them down to no more than 1024 pixels wide. I usually use 940 as that is what I measured the free ones to be. You have a choice of over 3 million free pictures on WA. I suggest finding the ones you need there first. And if you don't then upload your own.
Enter a phrase or an object in the request window, Sometimes I fool the system by entering a related item if the group of pictures that initially comes up are not what I want.

Site Content images is what I use. The beginning of November I did the Black Friday notice, I used the scrabble Black Friday picture. Only the word Black was displayed. Maybe it was because I placed it in cover image area.
The next time I do a post here. I will let you know how it goes. I need to do one soon.

When first starting out, how do you find all the time to do your training videos to learn affiliate marketing, read all the post in your email, write blog posts here and all the other things you mentioned especially when your working a full time job. It seems so hard.

Hi Janet,
It is hard. I spend about two hours a day working my business. Prioritize your time. Do the training first. Then work on your website. Learn all about using Keywords and Search Engine Optimization to help you rank high and in time drive traffic to your website.
When you get comments on your posts that helps with your ranking in Google. Wealthy Affiliate has a system set up where you can request for comments on your posts.
You get to that via the Website tab on the left. However, in order to request for one comment you need to give two. I suggest learning how to give site comments and clock the offer comments button.
Don't worry too much about communicating with members here until you have written several articles for your website. I suggest at least two per week.
