My Recent Site Comments Experience - A Surprise!

Over time, I have read several posts about the lack of quality of some of the site comments we all receive. I also have written about this sad phenomena.

Sadly we tend to share bad news more often than good news. For a change I want to share some good news about Site Comments.

New Post

I recently published a new post on my website about teachers. In regular fashion I requested 3 site comments. A day later when I visited WA I noticed that I had all three waiting for me to check them out.

As always, I felt certain that one or more would be weak comments and I would most likely have to reject these kinds.

Surprise!

I couldn't't believe my eyes when I opened my site comments. These three were the best ones I had ever received.

All were very articulate and responded effectively about the topic I had written about. And the grammar and spelling was great in all of them. For the first time, I had no need to do any editing.

I sincerely hope that this is an indication of better things to come.

Has anyone else who has recently requested Site Comments seen an improvement in the results? Please share your experience below.

Cheers.

Edwin

Thanks Edwin! I've been making sure any comments I leave are more than just a "comment" for sure. The one thing that stood out about that part of the training was this:

The more valuable content you leave under someone's article, the more great content you will get when it's your turn to receive.

I try to focus on the author's keywords, their title, domain name, and especially the topic at hand... and just blend them together with a few paragraphs.

Then if you're able to leave the post with a final QUESTION involving the "keyword" for the site-owner to answer, (another way for them to put even MORE content on the post after you've left), then you're golden.

Do these things and you are bound to get some great feedback in return. Does that sound about right with recent Site Comments experiences Edwin?

Great topic, sir. Keep 'em comin!
Dan

I like your thinking here Dan

Hey Dan
I really like the idea of a question, a definite plus plus for added value content. Wow you amazed me.
Wishing you well and a terrific day.

Thank you, sir!

Thanks Dan for your fine comments. I just read what the person asking for site comments wants and responds to that. Site Comments is all about the topic and not how the author has written their post. Site Feedback is where we can give a more critical review to help them. Whereas Site Comment focuses on a discussion of the topic.

I like the idea of asking a question. But only if the author requests questions.

Does that make sense?

Cheers.

Edwin

Yes, sir... understood. I had it backwards. Thanks for clearing that up. I appreciate it Edwin. Have a great day!

I love this answer. Give and receive kind of a thing. Thanks Dan.

Thanks Edwin, I have always received good and well structured comments and I always try to do the same with comments I submit!

That's the way TAngela.

Wonderful. Seems like we are having a positive upward trend in this area. I have also received some amazing comments recently. Like you I was shocked by the quality given what I normally receive.

Let's hope it continues.

Hi Roberta,

Looks like this pattern apples to most of those who have responded. Something has changed. Diane Scorpio stated that WA has changed the policy where you need to be 3 months in Premium before you can give comments. That could also be a factor.

Cheers.

Edwin

That's brilliant Edwin. I have had some really good comments recently as well :-)

Lisa, we're all on a roll!

Cheers.
