Google AdSense - Ad Mislabeling Warning Message

Last Update: June 15, 2016

Dear WA friends,

I received a warning message from Google AdSense yesterday. I was told I had non compliance with their AdSense program policies. It was AD MISLABELING.

Thinking of grouping my ads together under one title, I had added a title "VCP Sponsors" above the Google AdSense Ad and a few other marketing tools I am affiliate with.

I wasn't aware of such labeling policies so I thought this might bring awareness to those of you using AdSense on your websites.

AD MISLABELING: Publishers may not implement Google ads in a manner that disguises the ads in any way. For instance, publishers may not place ads under misleading headers or titles as this may confuse users into thinking the ads are actually site links related to that header. To avoid this issue, we ask that publishers use only "sponsored links" or "advertisements" to label ads. More information about this policy can be found in our help center at https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1346295?utm_source=crs&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=notification#Placing_ads_under_a_misleading_heading=en&answer=1346295#Placing_ads_under_a_misleading_heading

Make changes if you have non compliance like me too. Else, Google AdSense will send you a warning message on the non compliance ad per se,

Wishing you the best!

Most people don't use a title for their ads which is OK by Google.

Hi Marion!

Does this mean that if I have adsense ads placed within my content that I do not have to label these? I hope not, because with the plugin I use, it does not allow for a "title" or "label"

Thanks!
