I have been having problems with AIOSEO, Classic vs Block, Google Search Console & Google Analytics. Many of these problems have occurred because of the Old Vs New version. Some have occurred because of using the same words “Properties” with different meanings.

WordPress has 2 Block Versions. Support gave me a link to tie GSC to Google some more New names turned up that I did not understand. To make a long story short I submitted the following questions to the community and feigner sensing my frustration allowed me to share this with the community to possibly help others. I found this a good start to share.

What are keywords for the new aioseo?

Last Update: April 27, 2021

NON PRO VERSION.

  1. Is focus Keyphrase the new name for keywords?
  2. If non pro do we get only 2 keywords for tracking? If no how?
  3. Meta title, name, description etc., In English what is Meta?

Thanks Edward

the focus keyword is the keyword all in one will use to analyse your content ...nothing more than

that...it is not used for tracking only to analyse what you have created in this post.....

the meta title and description is the data used by the search engines to display in the results page...

the meta title doesn't have to be the same as the title of your article...but ideally is or at least close ...

the description can be a teaser to tempt visitors to click to learn more rather than the first 160 characters of your post....

it shows what your snippet will look like in the search engine

have fun

@edhozubin google always has decided on what it thinks is relevant for your content...

you can pick a keyword and write your article about what you think is relevant...but if google breaks your article down and doesn't agree then google will pick a topic it thinks is relevant and try to match up a keyword....

i know it seems like you should give up with jaaxy, but this is the reason you are taught to pick one keyword and use that as the topic of your post....so you stay on track with one idea....

this way you use all of the words related to that topic without thinking about it and google will pick up on it.

so keep going with the target keyword idea, and keep your site on track with the main topic for it and google will eventually pick up on it and see what you are on about....

good luck

phil

snippet is what is displayed in the serp (Search Engine Results Page)....and is shown in the panel at the bottom under the post...

this comprises of the meta title ( the title for displaying by the search engines....can be different to the title of the post but must be on the same topic) and the meta description ( a description of the post for search engine display purposes)

why are they there...well if you start out your post with a story then it may not be the best way for people to decide that your post will answer their query ( search )...so you write the meta description to entice, or summarize the topic of your post...

I hope that explains a bit more, but as you say there should be a glossary somewhere.....

@feigner Excellent and I thank you very much for taking the time to write all of that. I would love to write an article on WA with the 2 questions and the 2 answers because I believe that there are many members that could benefit from it. Thanks again.
