Whoomp! There it is...

Yes that's me having a discussion with DC Glenn about digital branding.

And in case you don't know who he is, you can find him on youtube by searching "tag team Geico commercial".

Back to my story...

This meeting was about an hour long and we both exchanged solid content about branding and online marketing.

Here's one thing that got me to write this blog post today:

Branding & Breadcrums

Let me explain!

DC has been working on bringing his brand for the past 4 years. He has learned all about digital marketing that he even built his own website and social media presense. That's commitment!

One of his most important work building his brand was what he called leaving Breadcrums. This is actually how he got the Geico commercial gig and many others in the pipe.

I asked what did he mean by Breadcrums?

He explained that breadcrums is engaging with different audiences within an industry that can have a bigger impact after engaging with them. He gave an of himself being on podcasts 3 or 4 times a week. He also finds people of influence who are using his hip hop song and gives them shoutouts to help increase his brand.

So what did I learn from DC Glenn?

- Be clear about who my audience is (one niche)

- Have a social media presence to engage with others who follow me. (no selling but helping)

- Be active on other podcasts or forums and see about how I can bring value to their content.

I can tell you this was so much fun and it's only the beggining of this awesome new year!

Friends, stay motivated by your passion and never give up on your dreams!
