Is there anyway to know precisely this:
1. I purchase a domain name on date X
2. Today is date Y.
Between Y and X , Z attempts are made across globe to acquire this and failed and hence notional demand value of $$XXX.
Any tools there please?
check with a pro on this....j do not know yet what people will try to do to acquire a domain that is worth some big money or one that has much exposure.

If I understand your question correctly, this might help. Some registrars have a feature which enables you to place a back order on a domain, so that if it drops, they can acquire it on your behalf. They do not guarantee to be successful in obtaining your desired domain, (they can be in competition with others), but if they are successful, they charge a fee for their services, in addition to the registration fee.
