So when i create new content for myself i like to draft all my posts and pages in microsoft word and the copy and paste it on my site, heres where the challenge comes in, every

Word is terrible for writing blog posts, it just wasn't designed for the job. Windows Live Writer connects directly to your blog for instantaneous one click uploads of your blogs that are prepared offline. It will also edit your online blog. Word clogs up your posts with all kinds of unnecessary code. Take a look you will never go back.

Bob as usual you're on the money ;) thanks for this!

Just a shot in the dark:))

bulls eye in the dark you mean ;)

I write my draft in evernote, then copy to wordpress editor and do the formatting (bold, italic, etc) in the editor. Find it easier that way.

Hi Rina, Thanks for your input.

I know there are a lot of people that do it like that. I write directly on my WordPress.
Ed

Thanks Ed, in this instance then how do you edit your formatting in wp? I find the function keys in wp to be very limiting.

I check my spelling as I go along. If I'm not sure about the spelling of a word, I use my smartphone to look it up. You said formatting... What do you mean by that?

lol sorry i should be more clear ;) Im referring to text formatting (bold, italics, font size, font type, layout what goes where, spacing and so on)

I really do have that down to a science! I use subheadings too!

When writing theme pages is it important to write keyword rich content? my approach this far has been to write content that resinates with my personal experience and my departu

I am not an expert, but I think keywords are very important because without them how can they see your website. That is only my opinion from a newbie.

Thanks all for the comments. some great insights. (thumbs up)

It's important but not to the point that you pepper your article with keywords. I would suggest that you put the keywords you're targeting in the title, first few sentences and the last few sentences. I also put it sometimes in subheadings and make sure it sounds and looks appropriate.

You don't need Jaaxy. Key in the keywords or title you want to use in your browser. Google will suggest words. Those words Google suggests are words people use to do searches in search engines.

Hi Duane, I am far from being an expert on this.

My take on this is:

Make a note of a couple of good long tail keywords that you may use.

Write a draft post/page that would resonate with your experience and your audience. Just got SE a draft title.

You will probably find that your long tails will appear in the draft, it's just the way our brains work. If they don't try to work them in.

Lastly review your title and then change as appropriate.

Get you wife or friend, stranger or your dog to read the post. This is very important.

Then publish.

That's my way but hey, what do I know:)
