Have a question around moving our site off siterubix and buying the domain, it seems to me itd be better to try the site out first to see if the keywords and stuff are right be
hello,
You will never get a view on your keywords and SEO on a Rubix site...
Try it: Google %yourdomainname%.rubix.com
Normally it should appear on position 1 even when it is only online for 1 hour and your keywords suck, but you will not have any answer on your rubix site...
Grtz,
Bert

Waiting til you are more sure about your niche is a possibility, but getting the dot com as early as possible is best. Sometimes, it can take months for keywords and SEO to start working properly, and at that point, moving all your content to a dot com might actually hurt rankings due to the redirects. Early on however, it won't make much of a difference.
I also find that dot coms rank easier, meaning your job of ranking the site will not be as tough!
