Timing is Everything.

I never used to think about the time of day when I published things. If I finished a Facebook post at midnight, I published it. Scheduled premiers on YouTube didn't make any sense to me. What did the timing of a website post matter?

Then I read an article about the best time to publish on different media. It turned out that the best time to publish on Facebook is between 8:00 am and noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It makes sense that most internet searches occur between 7pm and midnight.

My wife was getting something out of our truck about 3 seconds before we heard a crack and saw the wind blow over the tree in the picture above. The tree missed her. Had she hesitated even two seconds, she might have been hurt. At times, timing is everything.

At times, timing is everything. I have begun to think about when I publish a YouTube video. I don't publish on my website until about 5:00 pm. I spend a long time searching keywords and making sure that I optimize SEO for my articles. It makes sense that I start to think about the best time to publish something.

Lots of random circumstances determine when people do what they do. But, if we can give our article even a slightly better chance of being read or our video being viewed because of timing, I think we should try. Three seconds made a huge difference for my wife this afternoon. I am not suggesting that our timing has to be that precise. If research shows that a range of time on given days seems to be best for publishing to a given format, I am going to do it at that time. Do some research on the best times for publishing on the media that you use and "keep on fishin.'"

Good morning Jim,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for your blog post.

It's an interesting topic, Jim! I always used to write a post or upload a video and then hit publish. With my latest YouTube channel, I have been trying to schedule videos for 6 PM UK time, maybe I need to experiment with different times.

I think it is probably a good practice to have a routine when we are uploading posts or videos etc. It's something that I need to look into more.

I know that if I publish a post on Wealthy Affiliate, it will have more traction in the afternoon and evening. This is due to the time difference in the US as I'm in the UK.

I like your example of the tree, the timing has to be right!

Wishing you a great Wednesday.

Roy

I find that publishing YouTube videos seems to work best in the evening. WA posts get most response in the afternoons although it seems like some people are here all the time. Thanks for reading the post.
Jim

That's interesting, Jim, although it makes sense with YouTube, as I guess people sit down in the evening and watch YouTube. The majority of YouTube videos that I listen to, I don't actually watch, I tend to listen when I'm driving and working my off-line business! But I hear very much what you are saying!

Yes, I hear you with Wealthy Affiliate posts, which again makes sense. And yes, I sometimes wonder if some people ever sleep as they seem to be on the platform constantly!

Have a great day.

Roy

I know what you mean, Roy. Some folks are here all the time... at least their online name is here all the time. Thanks for taking the time to read the post and comment.
Jim

That's true, Jim, especially regarding the name being there all the time! I have a few question marks at times! However, I'm very grateful for an excellent and solid platform!

Wishing you a great day.

Roy

I attended a keynote with Internet genius Guy Kawasaki as the main speaker. He said that he would repeat his tweets multiple times each day (at least 4) because there was always a different audience that could read them. While some times may have more people than others, there may also be more competition. You can't lose, no matter what time you post.

I try to figure out the best time because I only do it once. It is true that there are always lots of people online, but I think there are optimal times. More than anything, I need to be consistent in posting.

Hi Jim,

I smiled when I began reading and realized what your title was meaning. I appreciated the story of your wife and the tree, and it is amazing some of the stories we have where a calamity was barely avoided by a freak happenstance that caused either the mildest of delays or for one to speed up.

One day walking with my then boy, I had to stop and tie my shoe. As I was crouched down, traffic had stopped and a car wasn't paying attention and was speeding. He had ot lock the tires up and skidded onto the sidewalk where me and my son would have been had we kept walking. And to think seconds earlier I was muttering to myself about having to retie the shoe, hah hah.

You're spot on about there being better times for activities such as posting. Even here at WA as an example, weekends aren't as busy usually as weekdays are.

A good post, thank you Jim.

Regards,

Jason

Wow. That is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing it. What do you think about guardian angels?
Jim

That's a tricky question.

I believe there are beings around us that are hard for us to register using the senses we are trained to use, but I'm not convinced they are angels of any sort. I do believe they might enjoy being perceived as such.

I entertain there are many possibilities when it comes to the reality around us that we are incapable of understanding.

One such possibility is that there is more to us than we can view in our limited perception. I've heard it suggested we aren't physical beings having a spiritual experience, but that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.

If that were true, then it must be considered possible that there are parts of us we are unaware of with our physical consciousness. Like trying to fit the ocean into a cup kind of thing.

If that is what is going on, it could also be possible we act upon ourselves from outside the physical conscious we have and we are in fact our own guardian angels unbeknownst to us.

Sorry for taking the opportunity to meander off like that, but I saw the door and took it, hah hah.

Regards,

Jason

Posting times are very helpful for better response. I have done a comprehensive breakdown across some social media sites if anyone needs them. here is just one for Facebook I have attached. I am happy to share if anyone wants them.
I have Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Tik Tok.

Steve
