In the past, as I commented on posts and articles, I fixed typos and spelling mistakes the old fashioned way. This meant that I went through about one monitor a week because of white out all over it. Then I noticed the little arrow above and to the right of comments I had written. When I clicked it, a drop down menu appeared. This allowed me to make edits to my comments or to delete a comment that didnt't make sense. But, this particular drop down menu only applies to things I had written. On comments received, the drop down menu is different.

This little menu speaks for itself.

I find that comments have more impact if spelling, spacing and grammar are correct. So I suggest that you take the time to proof comments and posts and then correct mistakes. Don't gum up your monitor with whiteout. Use the little menu tab to the upper right of the comment or post. I hope this suggestion makes it easier for you to "keep on fishin'."

Oh, yeah, I correct my writing all of the time. That little edit works wonders...

The edit is only or your own writing, Jim, or you would probably spend WAY more time editing....grin.

Yes, once you post, you can edit your own work!

Please do...!

It's a good habit to get into especially if you use your phone to post comments or submit your own posts.

However, you cannot edit someone else's writing, only choice to report It as spam, or stop seeing the post in your feed.

I still remember my first paper in college...it was almost all whiteout =p Fortunately the personal computer arrived about the same time and I didn't have to type many more papers on the traditional typewriter. Thank goodness for word processors! =)

Agreed!

I found this early on, Jim because I needed it!!! The longer I'm here, the better my typing gets, so I'm using it less often these days:)

That's a good thing. I keep making simple typing errors and need to correct them. Thanks for reading the post.
