Take a moment to read

I love reading various blogs, comments and training here at WA. My only issue is the amount of typos that come across my screen; most of the typos are just keying errors (space bar hit to early or to late). I have seen one or two comments that were typed as if they were text messages (no caps or punctuation marks); however, the worst type of error, typo or otherwise, is on a live website for the world to see...

I'm sure I have made the same kind of error in a post of mine, and if I haven't yet, I'm sure I will; we are not perfect creatures. I do recommend you type in Word (or whatever program you have available) and run your spell and grammar checks there and copy and paste your final work to WA or your website. I also recommend you read what you have written from the bottom up and from right to left at least once. This way you will catch words that may be spelled correctly but may not be the correct tense. Finally, don't be afraid to have someone proof read your work for you. Your brain will trick you and read what you meant to say, even if you leave off a letter or leave the entire word out.

You want to stand out as a professional, regardless of where you post. You are creating a name, a brand, of yourself and what your buying public sees will affect their purchasing decisions.

I understand what you are saying, you will find many in mine because for some reason I am having the hardest time with punctuation. I am spending all my time on learning it right now. Please forgive mine, but I just have to keep going or really I would just give up the whole idea. I don't want to give up....

Please don't give up!! Try typing your posts and articles in Word and run spell and grammar check. This site is all about learning and this is just another part of learning. You will do just fine...one step at a time!!

I do that, then when I have someone, anyone that know knows punctuation I get it all wrong. UGGG. Word doesn't catch all. Actually it does not catch a lot.

feel free to send me your articles to proof anytime

Well written and appreciate every word you've written! There should be no excuse for spelling errors with all the "Spell Check" technology available online.

But as far as correct grammar use, I believe even the most educated individual may not be able to use proper grammar..... and so...

As long as the point is made and it is understood when read or spoken, the author should not be criticized!

You are correct to say, "we are not perfect creatures!"

Thank you for sharing. I would also comment that those who do not know English as their native language and their writing skills are lacking seek out someone whose English writing skills are good so they can proof read their writing. Nothing worse than reading bad grammar.

Yes, good point. There is no shame in asking for help. Having someone else proof for you is another good way to learn/polish your English speaking and writing skills if English isn't your first language.

Oh my goodness, yes. Just the other day, I was checking out a website and grammar was so horrible I absolutely did not know what the author was saying. So, how did that content get ranked?
