No Arms No Legs No Worries – Life Without Limbs! What’s Your Excuse?
You have a dream, don’t you? Maybe everyone knows what it is and you just keep putting it off, or maybe you have it hidden deep inside and you are afraid to admit what it is. We all have dreams, no need to hide it. Your dream is probably much more realistic than you think, especially if you take Nick Vujicic into account. What would you do without limbs? If you were literally just a head and torso? Well, like Nick says you’d do one of two things, be mad and bitter because of what you don’t have or be happy for what you do.
Start Walking
So many people dream of their own freedom. Of working from home and still being successful. Maybe they just don’t like having a boss, or they have a real passion they dream of sharing with the world. But it’s impossible they say, I’ll never make enough, it’ll never get off the ground… Excuses. Having a successful home business is not impossible, fishing with no arms is impossible… or is it? Nick’s hobbies (with no limbs) include fishing and playing marbles. Born without limbs, he’s found ways to do these things and much more, so what’s your excuse? Is it hard? No, swimming with no arms or legs is hard. Yet still not impossible. What it takes is determination. Before you can accomplish your dreams you must want them, you must work at them. You will never be an author if you only write a few hundred words a week. It would take you nearly a month to write this article, much less a book.
No Excuses
Nick teaches that you need three things in this world to be happy. One, you must know who you are and what your values are. Two, you must know why you are here, what your purpose is. Three, you must know your destiny, or have faith in one. Without those three things you will be lost, a man without purpose wonders aimlessly through life accomplishing little. A man with no values has no value, his word is worth nothing. As for your destiny, maybe you make it and maybe it is made for you, either way you must have the fortitude to follow it. Turn your dreams into goals, and your goals into steps. Now start walking. Fear of failure is no excuse, because with it comes hope of success. You will learn more from each failure than all your success combined. So do not be afraid to fail, remember to learn from your mistake and try again.
When you start dreaming about that home business and start talking yourself out of it remember Nick. If a limbless man can make it through life and be the inspiration that he is to millions of people, if he can cast a fishing rod and drive a boat, then you can start a business and be just as successful. No excuses!

Hey Dave, I think this is a very well written and inspirational post. It particularly hits the spot for me as I lost the use of both my legs (diving accident), but hard work, determination and a powerful belief in myself got me walking again!
I was then paralysed (brain haemorrhage ) down the left side of my body... recovered again using the same strengths. So yes anything is possible once you put your mind to it.
One thing I would suggest, is to make your paragraphs shorter, break them up a little, makes for easier reading and people tend to shy away from lengthy paragraphs. No need to change the prose, just put a few more breaks in.
Brings to mind a saying I heard long ago, think it was chinese, possibly Confucious:
"I was sad I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet"
Hi Greg! Wow amazing! You are litterally back on your feet and stronger than ever! Thanks for the feedback! I will try the shorter paragraphs in my next blog! You're awesome and keep up the good work!
Thanks Dave, was all over 10 ten years ago now...I'm always moving forward.
My next task in this line is to help my best mate come to terms with having his leg amputated...he was in a motorbike accident!
He too will overcome this "setback", I'm going to make damn sure of it!
Very well written, and an EXCELLENT reminder to each and every one of us that we really have NO EXCUSES at all !! Our mind can make a zillion excuses/"reasons" why we can't _________ (fill in the blank), especially when fear is involved. When we make the decision to overcome our excuses and our fears, THAT is when positive things will begin to happen.
Thanks Bill! It says in Proverbs 29:26 that "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe." We sometime put our trust in too many things of this world instead of the one who made us. Always looking for a quick fix, push button, easy strategy that will work without any effort on our part. There is no quick fix! It takes hard work and focus on helping others and not just yourself. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
Hi Dave,
I think it was a great blog. I like your style and your values. Your writing is easy and flows naturally. You are talented and aimed in the right direction.
Thanks Nancy! I appreciate all the complements! I'm hoping to get better as time goes on and hopefully it won't take me so long to write once I have more experience. I appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading your blogs :) Thanks for reading and commenting!
I love Nick with no limbs, I always watch his videos for inspirational boost when I'm feeling down.
Excellent! I'm a sensitive guy and just seeing the joy of the people he has touched with his life (especially the young kids) really touches me and brings tears to my eyes. It's great to make money from home and spend time with my family but I also want to touch lives, even if just a little, like Nick has!
Dave, again, excellent posting of such incredible man, linking it with us ^normal ? ^ people behaviors. Awesome!
Thanks Alvaro! I really appreciate the encouragement! Please keep a look out for my website....coming soon to blog near you :) Also don't be affraid to ask for my feedback too. Remember, Iron sharpens Iron! We are improving ourselves! Keep on keeping on Alvaro! You are motivating me and hopefully I am motivating you :)
Great post with lots to think about. I would add "know who you are...why you are here...and trust your inner stirrings for they will direct your destiny". (A little philosophical today).
Thanks Rick! I know my first post kinda sounds like I don't want to write but you know I'm starting to find that inner writter somewhere deep tucked away waiting to come out :) I've been kinda procrastinating to put together my site since I wasn't sure about the niche yet. But I think I'll focus on working from home and motivating people to stop looking for the quick fix pill and put some work into building a real business online...I think most importantly this motivation stuff is helping me motivate myself :)
