I’m Derin, and I’m 50 years old, been married to my wife, Carrie, for almost 24 years, and we have 3 teenage children, Katie (18), Mason (17), and Lyndee (14).
We live in beautiful Eastern Washington State, northwest of Spokane, in a little town called Deer Park.
I am privileged to serve in a local church as a staff pastor overseeing the music ministry, and helping people grow in their faith in Jesus Christ by helping them to praise Him through music. It is truly a privilege and a joy.
My wife is a nurse by training, and has been able to stay at home to raise our kids for most of our married life. Recently, she re-entered the nursing field, only to be injured and end up with a permanent disability that prevents her from hospital nursing anymore. She also has had about 4 concussions in the last 5 years, and the cumulative effect of these head traumas has decreased her capacities quite a bit. She is still a very strong and capable woman, but these things have definitely taken their toll on her and our family.
We recently moved off of our 5 acre farm, to a home in a neighborhood, because we just couldn’t take care of and afford the bigger place anymore.
I love to create and play music on the piano, love to travel and explore new places, particularly in the mountains and surrounded by beautiful and scenic countryside. I also love the game of golf, and thoroughly enjoy being on the golf course, although I’m not the greatest golfer! I just love the ins and outs of the game, and enjoy all that surrounds it.
I’m looking into Wealthy Affiliate for the 2nd time...I explored it about 5 years ago, and did not get very far. My hope is to be able to pursue it as a hobby for a while, learning and growing, and hopefully one day to create a little more income for my family. I’m not out to be a millionaire, but I love the culture I sense that exists in this group of online entrapeneurs. I love to help people too, so as I potentially get involved and am helped by others, I would welcome the opportunity to help others in return.
Thanks for opportunity to share a bit about myself.
