Blogging and Speaking
Blogging and Speaking
We relate blogging and speaking, but the differences may be an obstacle, at least for me. I'm a born introvert. I know from my parent that I didn't speak my first words until I was five years old. I had an older brother who did all the talking. I followed him around and pointed to things I wanted.
Over the years, I remained an introvert. I worked as a machinist and toolmaker and it required very little interaction. Late in my working career, I entered management and this is where my introverted nature held me back. They forced me to do presentations and reports, all of which I stumbled through.
Retirement
Retirement came with the realization that I wanted more and could I change and become more comfortable around others. I joined a Toastmasters club and slowly, ever th enext 3 years, I became more comfortable is speaking and conversations.
My Toastmasters experience has been positive.
- I've become a better public speaker.
- I've learned the art of simple conversations.
- I'm more comfortable around people.
I Joined Wealthy Affiliate
Now I am a beginner blogger. I've found that my Toastmaster's experience has helped here too. Now I have blog posts and I continue to add more and refine the ones I already have. In December, I'll reach my six months here at Wealthy Affiliate and my 60th birthday the same month. I'm ready for Black Friday and I'll extend my Wealthy Affiliate membership then.
Thank you Kyle, Carson, and all the members here for a great community and awesome support.

I’m introverted too. I was extremely shy and now hold presentations. You have pushed yourself too, well done!
