Wife not happy with monthly fee.
I'm new here and have a domain but haven't added much to the site yet. The Mrs. noticed the subscription fee in our budget and she thinks it's way too much to spend right now due to other expenses.
Problem is I really haven't had enough time to make any of this work yet. I feel if I made some money that she would realize that this is something that can work.
Any suggestions? I'm not sure what I'm looking for you to tell me. I know it can be at least a few months before seeing any fruits of my labor. If I did cancel, can I sign up again later? And will I lose the domain I purchased here?
Thank you for reading.

Could you maybe show her where you are willing to cut down on other expenses in order to make this a feasible investment? For example, if you buy a coffee from Starbucks, stop that; if you buy a sandwich for lunch, take your own. Little things like that can add up to big savings per month :)
You can try taking her out then discuss this matter with her. Make her understand what kind of an investment you're doing and how it will eventually benefit her and the entire family. I'm sure with time she'll join and support you. All the best

I think the monthly fee is really appropriate for what you get here. Sure, you need to do the work fir getting results - and they normally don't come right away, depends from where you are.
There is a trick: pay yearly, costs less and your wife doesn#t see the detraction every month again and again which could lead to further discussions - OR/AND - ask HER to dive in and do the work together with you!
A couple of gigs writing articles and you can make $50 - $60. Cover the expenses. Take a look at Upwork.com.
My husband asks me every month if we have to pay again. I have tried to make him a part of what I'm doing to help him get excited about it. I let him know what I'm learning and show him where the money is going.
I toss around some big words he doesn't understand to confuse him a little bit. :) This might not pay off for a year and in my case, maybe never at all--I don't have that kind of site.
Start selling things you don't need around the house to pay for it. Tonight, I was on craigslist, looking for free furniture to flip and sell. If you believe in what you're doing, you'll find a way and the universe will support you.
Keep me updated on how it goes.
Daniel, I checked out your website. Looks like you have to make a little changes on there with them raising the fees.
It's not $49 for those who are already locked in at $47 - It's only $49 for someone who isn't already signed up at WA :)

Well, my wife and I had the same discussion. The annual fee, although its upfront, was so inexpensive compared to other hosting sites that we went with that. $29.99 monthly. If you put an amazon affiliate link on your site and promote your site to friends and family suggesting that they make purchases through your site, your commission will cover a lot of that fee.
