What is Joy to You?
If you had to define joy, what would you say? And why is joy so important? Are those heavy questions? Yes. Are they answerable? Yes?
Someone said, "I think joy is a good feeling. You know when everything is right." Another one said, "Joy is when you're adjusted. It's when you understand yourself and everything going on around you." And another said, "Joy is a good life."
I think all of these answers focus on what is temporary They're built on what we are doing or what we can do. What if there is no good feeling? On some days things just don't seem right You may not feel adjusted? And the good life? What is that? It's here today and gone tomorrow.
Is it possible to have joy when there is not enough to pay the bills or you've been out of work for a year? Can you experience joy if you have no food on the table for your family or your child has been sick for a long time and don't know how you can ease the pain?
The answer is a resounding yes. Think about these words written on joy.
Joy at its highest meaning calls for the vertical, or transitional dimension that translates superficial happiness, productive adjustment, and self-help techniques into an encounter with the Source. Joy becomes the power of grace, the process of spirit, and the presence of nature in our lives.
Consider what Joseph Campbell, an American professor of literature at Sarah Lawrence College, had said...
In the end, joy then becomes a self-reflected balance, between expectations and achievements - the ability to approach problems objectively by accepting things as they are and working toward solutions and adjustments.
Assuming this stance, joy is a sense of imperturbable gladness that sings when feeling lonely, laughing when it hurts, and dance when disappointed and rejected.
In this sense, joy is taking our crises in stride and utilizing our circumstances to have confidence in action. It is seeking first peace from within and accepts the present moment. Then when you reached calmness in your mind, the new process begins.
Perhaps we could say, joy is our response to belief in ourselves as we look for our source of security no matter what our circumstances are. It's adopting a perspective on what is going on in our life. Is it worth a try? Most definitely.
- How about you? What do you do when you feel so down and alone?
- When your heart is so cast down by failure and seeing no good come from your effort?
- In hours of loneliness, weariness, and trials?
- In all your doubts, perplexities, and temptations?
- In the failure of your plans and hopes?
- In disappointments, troubles, and sorrows?
- When you are ill and your head and hands cannot work?
- When others fail you and abandoned you?
Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls, and shortcomings of every kind, there is hope and count it all joy.
โThey say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.โ

Joy is vital.
Research proves that joy helps to overcome challenges faster and breeds positivity.
Joyful people maintain their best moods even in the face of challenges.
Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you. So very much... I cannot express it. If you have ever lost it, then you know it's value; priceless! :)
Just as happiness, joy is an ever expanding unfolding of infinite love and a surrender of your soul to peace. It is a trust that there is someone who cares infinitely for you and has given you a unique purpose. With acceptance of that purpose and the unity of agreement it offers, there becomes an ever-lasting and infinite bond like no other.
That is joy to me. The arms of an ever-unfolding infinite sense of belonging to something profound, perfect, and unconquerable. The fulfillment of something that is quiet and peaceful and offers a sanctuary from doubt of any kind.
I love the post Elizabeth. It's fantastic! And these days, our true purpose is the most important thing. I see you have found your sister, and it is spreading like the rays of the sun. Thank you. :)
My dear Dahlia, so you noticed. :-)
You know when I was writing this,
I have so much that I would like to
add and I have to pick and choose
as they may not be appropriate for
the masses... so they said... ???
Yes, I completely agreed with
everything you said here and really
one of the reasons for us to be here
in this world is to be joyful... that is
our gift from above.
If not, that is so, so sad because
we are all created by our Heavenly
Father and that means we are not
following what He designed us to
do. We live in total abundance with
everything we can think of but most
of us do not see that and all we can
do is complain, moan, criticize and
condemn.
If we only learned even just one thing,
and that is to say "thank you" it would
have made a huge difference in how
we live our lives here on earth.
My dear Dahlia, I always love to
read your messages as they give
me hope to continue and awaken
my inner being more to express
what is in my heart.
Thank you a billion times or even
trillion times and much, much more.
I love you dearly as God's love
enfolds you more and more.

Oh Elizabeth, you are an angel to me. Seriously. I have always wanted someone to understand how meaningful and deep it really is; the plan of God. It is so awesome and beautiful. And once you truly, deep-down in your heart, understand what the meaning is, it is profund. Nothing is an accident; I believe you know that. The finely woven tapestry is being woven individually in all of us. Some of the threads are very fine; even seemingly invisible as they are woven into the plan, caled the "Book of Life." It is the "living word"; we are living it as we weave it. it is a beautiful tapestry, a tapestry of truth. A truth that will be revealed to all of us, and will bring peace, joy, and contentment to everyone. It is change for the better, like an ocean wave coming into shore and sweeping all our anger away as it receeds again.
I love this tapestry; you are a unique part of it; a good part; a sent part; a messenger. That's why I call you an angel. You share angelic messages with the rest of us. I always appreciate your posts, and your faith that humanity will rise above the pain and sorrow to see a better day.
Blessings sister, and thank you for caring, and for sharing with all of us the touch of Elizabeth. :)
I love you back; with all my heart. :)
Oh, my dear Dahlia,
You are making me cry now and
by reading your message here I
felt like I am talking to our Master.
Before reading this, I was thinking
about those who are underprivilege
and those who are called an outcast
to the society and I began to cry.
I could not help it and I sometimes
found myself just doing that and all
I can do is to pray for them.
All of us were given a gift to use and
to share to mankind whatever that
may be and that somewhere out
there is needing someone or even
something that they can listen to
and be one with the Source as a
special moment in their lives.
You are one of them, my dear Dahlia\
as our meeting was not a coincidence
as you know.
No matter who it is, I bless all of them
with pure love and light and with pure
source energy as we never know who
might need them.
Thank you much, much more my dear
Dahlia and I am most grateful to our
One and Only for bringing you to me.
I love you dearly.
The power of God protects you.

Your words flow like silk from Heaven Elizabeth. Yes, we should do everything we can at this time to heal hearts and share what we know inside. It is a time of great confusion and turmoil, and it is easy to allow the world to rob us the joy we should all feel knowing we are safe in the hands of the Creator; the one who gave us everything. No greater love exists; that I know, and wish for other people to discover, so that they too can know the hope and the joy of being safe and loved.
I know one thing Elizabeth, there is going to be a big change for the better. One of my favorite songs by Seal is, "If I Could." We are trying in our own way Elizabeth. And with all my heart I see the spirit move in your words of comfort and care.
Thank you sister; your picture was the first one I saw today when I logged in to WA. Destiny! :)
I love you so much sister. Blessings today like the wings of an angel. Thank you for sharing.
Joy is an inside job.
It's an internal reality like love is not simply an emotion.
No, love is a commitment to do, no matter what flippy, changing feelings may say.
The commitment builds a lasting bridge, not a last minute low effort hop, hoping to reach the other side for oneself, and unscathed.
And so what about the "loved one", unless the table is turned, no price can ever be paid for genuine, unforced, pure committed love.
It is priceless!
Joy is unlike being happy.
Happy is like changing facts, changing weather. Happy is external.
Joy is internal. Joy amassed becomes an eternal. Amassed Joy is a testimony of Love, time spent on a Masterpiece.
Are you a Master of Peace?
You are God's masterpiece.
Even if you don't believe the principles put to work, applied are so powerful that your life will change the lives of others.
For those who do believe a children's song says it all.

This must surely be,
Jesus first, you are last,
And Others in between!

Thank you, my dear.
When you are joyful you are
in the presence of the Almighty
as He is joy himselff and that
is one of His characteristics.
I have another song for JOY
and I dance to it while singing it.
"I have joy, joy, joy, joy,
here in my heart,
here in my heart.
I have joy, joy, joy, joy
here in my heart today."
Oh, I just love that song
especially when I dance to it.
Let the joy of God surround
you, my dear Aunt Zay.
I love you joyfully.
Elizabeth
That's a great song๐๐ถ๐ปnow I'm singing it too!
You are such a Divine Sweetheart!
Blessings to you Elizabeth
Oh, I accept all the blessings
coming from you and yes
keep singing and dancing
and that will make you jump
with joy.
I love you, my dear Auntie Zay.

I think joy is like happiness, I live my life to be happy by doing things that I love and sharing with others I love and who also do things to make me happy, If I am not happy which is never at all now I change it, like I have done in the past, thats why I can say that I am always happy now!
Thank you Elizabeth beautiful post :)
Ahh! That is so beautiful, Fiona.
We are here in this world to live
with joy and happiness like you
said and we are surrounded by
so many wonderful abundance
and so we look with wonder at
its blessings.
Thank you so much, Fiona.
Blessings.
