Meditation - Are You a Ruthless Person?
Hello, my dear WA Family, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, or good night from wherever part of this wonderful world you came from.
Here is another one of my daily short meditations by Anne Wilson Schaef, Ph.D.
Thank you so much, and the topic is
Are You a Ruthless Person?
"And beyond even self-doubt, no writer can justify ruthlessness for the sake of his work, because being human to the fullest possible extent is what his work demands of him." - May Sarton -
What May Sarton has written is not just for a writer. No one can justify ruthlessness!
We are told that one has to be ruthless to make.it in the world of business. As women, we have believed that we have to be even more ruthless than men just because we are women.
Many of us have achieved success, but at what price? We don't like who we see in the mirror.
One of the characteristics of the addictive process is that we progressively lose touch with our own morality and our own spirituality.
We progressively lose touch with our humanness. Recovery affords us the possibility of reconnecting with our compassionate selves.
" MY ABILITY to be compassionate and experience the beauty of humanness has not left me. What about you? Has yours left you?"
"Hope yours has not left you either and hope that it was only buried under layers of addictive garbage."
Thank you all so much for your precious time reading this post.
God be with you all always in all ways.
In light, love, joy, blessings, and peace,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, in my opinion, ruthlessness is just another type of lust! A different means of demonstrating greed. We all possess a certain level of ruthlessness.
But to what extent is the question! We are sometimes brazen in our response; however, the question of how much still remains.
Conscious people tend to attach ruthlessness to self-protection type scenarios. On the other hand, negative people manipulate ruthlessness as a bludgeoning instrument.
Compassion and the beauty of humanness is a dish best served cold!

Oh, I just love how you expressed your
thoughts here and you are so right and
sometimes those who exhibit them are
needing help within themselves.
Thank you so much, Canty.
Blessings.

You are going to be hard pressed to find ruthless people amongst the individuals that correspond on these pages. A person might have short term 'success' by being mean spirited but you would soon turn into a piece of charcoal and burn yourself out in a hurry. If you are any kind of a decent person, you can argue your position and make your point without being abrasive rude or mean. Actually I don't think writing back and forth the way we all do could be beneficial or informative if we were ruthless. I usual feel refreshed when I finish trying to figure out what I want to write Now if you don't agree with me, you can go jump in the lake.
Hello Chuck,
I actually do not understand your response.
I am never a ruthless person in my whole
life. I do not know how to be.
That's not nice to say.
No one can justify ruthlessness for the sake
of his work and that is never called for.
MY ABILITY to be compassionate and
experience the beauty of humanness has
not left me.
It will still continue even if I jumped on the
lake.
Peace.

Elizabeth, I am sorry, I never meant to criticize or insult you in any way. I didn't chose my words carefully enough. What I was trying to say is that no one that leaves comments or replies here is ruthless, none of us. I don't think that the way we exchange ideas would work if we were that way. If anything, we are all the opposite of ruthless, we are compassionate and considerate. A ruthless person can't grow or mature mentally or emotionally. A ruthless person quickly burns away all the characteristics of humanity and Godliness. Of course you don't have an ounce of ruthlessness in you, you never have and you never will. My bad joke about you jumping in the lake was me acting like a ruthless person. It was a stupid joke that wasn't funny in anyway. I apologize for being so thoughtless and for causing you any distress.
No worries, Chuck.
Everybody has a choice to read and
comment if they so wished to do so.
Life is too beautiful to worry about
anything and that would lead you to
stress.
It is not worth it. We are only passing
by here and we just have to make the
best of what we can do and try to excel
in everything we put our minds to do.
Be well, Chuck.
God bless you and be at peace.
