All I wanted was to go for an eye check...

I'm seeing light flashes, green and grey wheels, typed lines shrinking and all kinds of shadows. I know what you're probably thinking, but no I'm not tripping, honestly.. just doing my best typing these lines without errors.

It all started about a month ago when I started seeing a black screen showing up in my left eye and fading pretty quick after a few seconds. I chose to interpret it as some temporary dizziness and keep on with my routine which involves with reading and writing.. but then I noticed not only black screen was showing again here and there but light stains interfering my sight were also starting to show up and decided it's time to give this thing a good check considering the fact it makes things more difficult(reading, writing and driving) and seems that something is definitely going on backstage.

So I went to this ophthalmologist that a friend who had an eye issue years back was recommending and he was indeed the cool but thorough ... cool cause he said my eyes reminded him of his cat Gabriela (or Michaela... mm :\) and was just being really nice and relaxing, thorough cause after I left his clinic I found myself that whole night in the ER going through examinations of both ophthalmologists and neurologists, including that CTV thing. I spent the week in the hospital to learn that I have PTC- weird situation in which the brain is playing charades pretending to have a tumor when in fact there is none, all due to pressure around the brain caused by fluids...

Not very easy writing these lines, technically, maybe emotionally too...how am I holding on? doing my best to snap out of a state of shock, weird things happen all the time, and I have my friends and family, humor, and a little help from cannabis when the headaches get stronger and painkillers are not enough. headaches, tingling and tinnitus are expected side effects following both lumbar puncture and the medical treatment.

I feel bad for holding the progress of my site for weeks now but health comes first they say.The situation makes me think what does it all mean that I've been so interested to explore matters of the brain to learn as much as possible, and there I am caught up in this Neuro-Ophthalmological position that doctors still investigate.. almost feels like like I was aiming at my own situation now... it's hard to call it an illness, I'm not a sick person, never was and all the tests still went perfectly fine. just a new thing I need to reconcile with and get over from as long as it's reversible. I'm very thankful that it is!

There will be a lot of thinking in the next few days of rest at home. doctor says it might take weeks before I'll see real improvement in my sight but Ii'm a rebel by nature so I believe things will work faster than he made the process sound like - either way I'm patient and intend to benefit this time, something tells me that my blurriness will help me see things I couldn't see before, new layers of understanding that was missing, not sure yet but it will be great for sure.

Thanks for the warm wish Pam :)

The eyes are nothing to mess with. Take the time to heal.

yes now I know, I'll be patient.l. thanks! :)

Glad this is all reversible. I know you will heal quickly. Take care of yourself!

Thanks Kary, I hopee so- only doing what I can!

do not get me wrong i like it in a good way the graphic representation of it. otherwise the suffering of the headache is not a likeable thing. sorry to learn that. it may be a long battle before you settle to a drug that might help or just get to deal with it. but boy, if you add a little bit of cannabis, i hope you do not get further colours and plants or animals to add to the pictures when a little brain death results wih the use. marcy

Hi Marcy, thanks for your comment! one of the questions I got asked about 15 time (by each doctor I was examined by) was if I used any drugs- makes total sense of course. the thing they didn't care much for was use of cannabis but more the heavy drugs- those that in case they make connection for the long run with the walls of the brain they can make a porridge out of it- those drugs and CIGARETTES. that's right. I'm pretty familiar with cannabis - far far from being a daily smoker/ regular consumer but I know myself well in it
I didn't smoke for months before these last few days and still doing it in a VERY controlled manner, pretty much keeping the little I have as a backup pain killer cause the truth is it can do wonders and its all natural. I say if nature gives you something you can benefit wisely you should definitely make use of it!
