Google's Advice on Writing Product Reviews

So, I know I have written about product reviews quite a lot recently, but it really is an important subject.

Especially now, as Google rolled out its third algorithm update last week.

Google is now aiming to rank product reviews higher if they adhere to its new rules.

If you haven't read my previous posts or want a refresher on the subject, check them out below.

Essentially, Google is looking for information that goes beyond what the manufacturer provides. If all you are doing, is simply re-writing a description of the product, that is not going to rank.

And yes, I know that the majority of you review products that you don't own and cannot provide evidence that you have personally used the product, but I am simply presenting the facts here, I don't have the answer.

You may be interested to learn, that Google has actually produced a help document on writing product reviews.

Wow, Diane!

Thank you very much for this valuable Google information.

I can use this as a checklist and the making of my review template... I'm back working on my best passionate niche and writing and thoughts are much easier.

The template has been a bit of a challenge trying to put it all in order of discussion.

Once I have finished my review template based on the Google information, would you mind taking a quick look at it to see if I'm on the right track. Can I send you a PM of it?

Thank you, Diane. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Monica

Hi - yes, of course, happy to take a look.

Hi Diane,

Thank you very much! 🙏

I'm still working on it and hopefully, in the next couple of days I'll be ready to PM you.

Have a blessed new week.

Kind regards,
Monica

I genuinely love informative posts such as this one, and I didn't know that so many people were writing product reviews. Now, I want to start writing reviews, too! I've found that the more I write, the better I become at writing and engaging in conversation, and learning what works and what doesn't. Practice indeed does make perfect.

I will certainly be reading more of your articles and posts and looking forward to exchanging ideas with you. I am a newcomer to a lot of the information provided here at Wealthy Affiliate and am new to some of the ideas presented well as products such as the Hemingway Editor.

Thanks for providing such good, thorough information, as I appreciate the work and effort you've put into making insightful worthy posts.

I think for the most part any folks here within WA have been taking this approach with their reviews, but it is good to have a look at Google's broader criteria to make sure you are fitting their "mold".

At the end of the day they want to provide their audience comprehensive, engaging, and useful reviews. This will take research before you write, as will most quality content you create on your website. ;)

Hmmm...looks like I must be an engineer of some kind to write such content!

14 points is what I'm getting at to knock out a good review, and it's only fair to the consumer.

Thank you for info.
